SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The Senior Manager, Origination Transport and Storage, plays a pivotal role in NextDecade's gas transportation and storage efforts. Reporting directly to the VP, Energy Supply Commercial, this position is based in Houston, Texas and is essential during the initial stages of NextDecade's operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute knowledge, expertise and experience to the development and execution of gas transportation and storage origination strategies to sustain and expand future business.
Accumulate and communicate market intelligence, maintain a market perspective, and develop strategies to capture value.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Scheduling, Trading, Risk, Credit, and Contracts teams.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum/preferred experience required for the position:
Minimum/preferred knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Expert knowledge of US natural gas industry, especially in Texas, including gas markets, pipeline and storage systems, commercial and physical operations, business models and strategies.
Track record and experience in negotiating, executing, and managing long term, large volume gas transportation contracts and storage contracts.
Familiarity with NAESB agreements and other commercial contracts.
Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver value.
Proven track record of innovation, creativity, and success in closing customer business.
A detailed understanding of Interstate and Intrastate pipeline commercial terms and associated regulatory regimes.
A strong understanding of storage valuation techniques, including intrinsic and extrinsic evaluation.
Appreciation of the key drivers and strategies of pipeline and storage companies.
Strong negotiation skills.
Working knowledge of Texas and Gulf Coast natural gas pipelines, tariffs, gas sale contracts, and gas transportation agreements.
Proven track record in developing client relationships.
Experience working across functions and with various internal departments.
Preferred, but not required, supervisory skills.

Required/preferred education:
