The Opportunity

This position works out of our Norman Woods (just north of Abbott Park) or Maple Grove, MN location in the BTS (Business and Technology Services) Division.

As the Senior Manager, Business Solutions & Services (BSS) Business Office, you'll have the opportunity to hold a highly visible role and work on a variety of key activities including: management of our $100MM budget for software licenses and application managed services support; partnering with finance on the development and review of Plans and LBEs, support of our application and portfolio management processes and other ad hoc initiatives including cost improvement and M&A.

What You'll Work On

The critical role of Senior Manager leads and manages the software licensing and managed services budget including, but not limited to, the following activities:

• Manage all BSS software license agreements, with timely and relevant renewals in alignment with our operational and strategic goals. Will work in close collaboration with Client Service Managers and Business Relationship managers across Abbott IT, Global and Regional Procurement, and our software suppliers. The software portfolio includes ~ 140 vendors supporting multiple enterprise and divisional business applications

• Support Procurement with other key contracts/licensing agreements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IBM, Sparta, PTC, Siemens) that cross IT lines of business

• Oversee the BSS application managed services (AMS) budget in partnership with the Supplier Management Office, and in close partnership with our Managed Services Suppliers and Client Service Manages, including scope change requests

• Lead key aspects of BSS Application Lifecycle Management including ongoing coordination of enterprise software testing (i.e., Evergreen Program) for enterprise upgrade initiatives, and application security authentication/protocol upgrades for BSS managed applications

• Partner with Finance to develop Plans and LBEs for the software and managed services budgets including monthly review of actuals vs. benchmarks

• Support other Business Office activities including reporting for the Technical Currency Program and Application and Portfolio Management

• Assist the Business Office Director in IT integration for Mergers and Acquisitions related to BSS supported business processes and applications, identification and execution on cost improvement activities, and other ad hoc analyses

• All aspects of people leadership for employees and contract resources

• Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners and suppliers

• Compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline

• At least 12 years' experience in project and/or budget management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, or strategic planning with a demonstrated ability to lead

• Strong written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills

• Strong collaboration and partnering skills

• Good negotiation and influencing skills

• Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationship and teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience planning and managing Financials

• Experience with creating and managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders a plus

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 - $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
