The senior manager of internal communication will develop and implement strategies ensuring consistent internal voice globally, strengthening culture, increasing engagement and innovating delivery channels. The successful team lead will build relationships with key stakeholders to plan and execute a cohesive approach to internal messaging that connects global offices and balances communication of culture with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Own, develop and manage internal communication channels and process, including business development and marketing representation on intranet, global newsletters, executive communications, email campaigns, video production and office screens, among others. Seek opportunities to diversify channels and tactics.
  • Plan and deliver strategic communications campaigns to increase engagement and trust; collaborate with other departments and teams to information share and ensure cohesive approach.
  • Provide strategic consultancy to other professional staff departments, C-suite and global managing partner; provide editorial review and advise on colleague communication and engagement.
  • Write and edit copy, including script and speech writing, for various mediums and audiences ensuring error-free work product adhering to Firm style guide with consistent messaging.
  • Manage and professionally develop direct reports. Oversee relationships with external suppliers, setting priorities, ensuring contract compliance, adherence to budget, feedback and high-quality product.
  • Coordinate with Talent functions on internal engagement surveys; analyze results and develop appropriate messaging and communication action plans based on survey findings.
  • Leverage technology to innovate and elevate delivery channels. Research and propose tools to integrate AI capabilities and support business objectives.
  • Oversee cadence of firmwide communications aiming to streamline volume. Contribute to global editorial calendar.
  • Participate on crisis communication team at the direction of the Global Marketing and Communications Director.
  • Measure and analyze effectiveness of communications and initiatives, regularly reporting on KPIs and continually seeking improvement.
  • Foster a culture that supports collaboration and team spirit committed to professional excellence and the highest levels of client service.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in internal communications, preferably within the legal or other professional service sectors.
  • Bachelors degree in communications, journalism or related field.

Skills

  • Impeccable writing and editing skills; strong storytelling capabilities, well-versed in ghostwriting and delivering impactful and relatable messaging.
  • Experience supporting people teams and senior-level executives, including developing messaging and tone of voice.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills;
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience measuring and reporting on KPIs.
  • Experience developing and delivering impactful communication campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and tactical execution.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $185,000 to $200,000 at the time of posting.
