Job Description:

IDS Engineering's Systems Validation, Test and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for integration, test and validation activities. SVTAD employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing through sell-off of IDS ' most sophisticated systems and technologies.

The Missile Defense Integration and Test Cross Product Team Lead (CPT) Lead is responsible for cost, schedule, and budget of all Integration and Test of the Common X-band family of radars for both US and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. The I&T CPT Lead is also responsible for Site Technical, Integration and Test support to operational deployed radars, radars in production at test sites including near field range and Pelham, and radars being tested at WSMR and VAFB.

Duties include:

  • Leading a cross-functional team with multiple contracts and customers

  • Supporting development of large proposals and incrementally funded Task Instructions (Tis)

  • Coordinating with other CPT Leads, IPTs, multiple engineering cost centers, multiple engineering directorates, finance, scheduling, estimating and pricing and the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure all Integration and Test Activities fully executed

  • Serving as technical interface to the Customer [Missile Defense Agency] for Integration and Test.

  • The position also requires the ability to take vaguely defined tasks, develop clear expectations, and partner a mutually agreeable path forward with all stakeholders

This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • 12+ years of Systems Engineering and/or System IV&V experience with at 5+ years in a leadership role

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Active/Current Secret US Security Clearance

  • Experience managing cross functional teams of over 100 people

  • Experience leading programs greater than $50 Million

  • Experience in management of complex and diverse engineering teams, leading program initiatives, developing talent, driving performance, and change management.

  • Experience preparing technical and cost proposals, and critically review proposals.

  • Strong written and verbal communications, influential, leadership, and analytical skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or related field of study.

  • Ability to acquire PMX required level 6 certification

Desired Skills:

  • Certified EVMS100 and EVMS200.

  • Experience as an IPT lead, CPT lead, Project Manager, Test Director, or similar capacity.

  • Prior experience in Missile Defense Agency/homeland defense, domestic/international, Missile Defense programs to include requirements management, systems integration, test, verification, validation, flight test, simulation and stimulation, test tools and equipment, accreditation, calibration, site installation and check-out, and IV&V planning, procedures, analysis, and reporting.

  • Knowledge of integration and testing of hardware and software in large scale, broad reaching systems.

  • Experience with IPDS and CMMI-5 compliant Gate Reviews and Tracking Books.

  • Ability to influence decision making across multiple departments and organizations while balancing conflicting priorities.

  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) to include Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)/ Sarbanes-Oxley Estimate at Completion (EAC).

  • Experience with Domestic and/or International Military customer structures.

  • Experience as Test Readiness Review Chairperson and/or Independent Reviewer.

  • Subject Matter Expert in Systems Integration, Verification, and/or Validation and/or Flight Test.

  • Extensive technical knowledge of Command and Control Systems, Air Defense Systems, Missiles, Radars, Missile Defense Systems, Flight Test ranges, Communication Systems, and/or Networks.

  • Technically oriented, Self-Starter with the ability to independently research, analyze and provide solutions to complex information.

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Math

  • Applied, Physics, Systems Engineering or Business Administration

The CAM role will support various task leads on one of the Mission Systems & Sensors (MSS) programs at the Missile Defense Center.
