Job Description:

As the project leader of the function which ensures the tie between engineering data, schedule data, and material data (right material, right place, right time), the Material Planning Lead is of strategic importance to project material management success. He/she will:

  • Conceptualize material flow on mega projects and develop Material Planning plans accordingly

  • Responsible for all material planning activities on a project, from proposal to client turn-over; including system set up, implementation of construction work package philosophy, health of material data through all project phases, and detailed planning triggers such as fabrication class, sequencing, and destinations

  • Develop, implement, and manage Material Planning Execution Plans on projects

  • Instruct and mentor others in the management of materials

  • Collaborate with joint venture partners to reach agreement on best practices and systems

  • Direct and oversee/mentor a team of material planners on a project, both in home office and at jobsites

  • Interview prospective Material Planners both internally and externally

  • Responsible for overseeing the Execution and Material Responsibility Matrix process on projects

  • Work with, and assist engineering discipline material controllers, on their material control plans and help ensure their accurate data input

  • Assist in the initiation, development, and review of cost/schedule trends

  • Participate in the development of discipline material control plans

  • Participate in the development of the Field Material Management Plan

  • Initiate and lead material planning meetings

  • Monitor and advise expediting priorities

  • Monitor and support Field Material Management activities

It offers a shift differential of $2/hour. The Material Handler performs daily distribution yard activities for a facility. Perform distribution-related functions (receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads). Operate forklift. Ensure load matches order prior to vehicle exiting yard. Perform customer service activities. Material Handlers have broad in‑depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. Possess alertness and adaptation to warehouse routines. Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation. Material Handlers de!monstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience with a willingness to complete GED upon hire. Working Conditions are in a warehouse operations environment with considerable physical exertion. Will perform duties in all weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building material products and engineered wood products a plus. Ability to understand and measure lengths of material required. General warehouse experience, including industrial forklift operation, and/or knowledge of warehouse work environment preferred.
