The MCD Global Technology Data & Analytics team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Master Data Management. In this role, you will own responsibility for coordinating master data management initiatives across our data product landscape to globally improve and progress McDonalds to a world class data management organization. Bridges the gap between the business customer and the technology solution providers by translating business needs to technical solutions throughout the lifecycle of the product. Coordinates and/or executes plans to ensure that technical solutions meet the needs of the business.

You will have extensive experience in a data warehouse environment facilitating requirements gathering sessions, documenting requirements, analyzing and evaluating possible solutions to meet requirements. Deep understanding of the requirements gathering and business process mapping along with strong program & project management expertise are critical to the success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implment a Master Data Management strategy to ensure data standardization, quality, governance and provide a single source-of-truth for the domains.

  • Define a systems landscape for Master Data Management to connect data flows across all McDonalds Data systems ((i.e. hierarchies, attributes/properties, export/import routines, validations).

  • Collaborate with Architecture leads to launch scalable and reliable data solutions, support system integration efforts, and create operational efficiencies through automation and process improvements.

  • Collaborate with Business Leadership to define vision, data standards and change management roadmaps.

  • Operationalize governance processes for creation/change of data, to define business rules, and to implement and improve data standards, quality, integrity, and consistency.

  • Facilitate Security/PII/Compliance for MDM across data domains globally

  • Serve as subject matter expert on Master Data Management within the Global Technology Data and Analytics platform.

  • Participate on data quality improvement initiatives.

We are looking for an analytical, roll-up-the-sleeves, data-savvy professional who is capable of building and managing master-data best practices, but also managing the relationship of one of Trax's strategic data sharing partners (Nielsen). The Master Data Manager will report to our head of Recognition Services and work closely with our Professional Services team to ensure proper Trax data hygiene. This role is preferably in Chicago, where our strategic partner is also headquartered. Mission of the Role Trax aims to be the single point of information for all things in store. We aim to be a reliable, consistent, customer-centric team who delivers the highest quality data and enables our partners to effectively navigate an increasingly complex retail environment. The Master Data Manager is responsible for all aspects of data management and transmission across Trax-Nielsen projects. Strong data hygiene ensures meaningful analytic opportunity (sales data paired with in-store execution data) and customer ROI, as well as allows Trax to speak the same language as our customers (Nielsen). This role will own the end to end process by which data moves between the two companies and is maintained for highest integrity standards. Responsibilities Process creation and governance of ongoing data updates between systems and companies Identifies areas for master data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality issues through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement Single point of contact for all Trax-Nielsen projects (thus owning and maintaining key relationships with Nielsen) Deep categorical knowledge of Nielsen database schema and structure Close coverage gaps between Trax and Nielsen databases where necessary Ensure master data aligns with Trax KPI and reporting definitions Ensuring alignment, needs, and timely resolutions to any data gaps or transmission issues between partners Requirements CPG background is a plus. Bonus points for someone intimately familiar with Nielsen data architecture and schema (either through working at Nielsen or with Nielsen data). SQL proficiency - ability to query databases as needed and independently. Experience with BI tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. to present meaningful business insights. Experience with process re-architecture and governance. Experience working with remote teams in different time zones. Customer-facing experience is a plus. Organized, operational, process-driven. Versatile - can work effective with Development team, operations team, customer account managers, and also Customer (Nielsen). Hiring in Chicago is preferential.
