Senior Manager, Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE)

Job Summary:

As a Renewable Energy Senior Manager within our global renewable energy firm, you will play a critical role in driving decision-making processes by developing and maintaining a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) model, ensuring reliability assessments, working with 3rd party stakeholders, and coordinating with sales/marketing teams. You will be responsible for developing a sophisticated understanding of Array's positioning in all aspects effecting LCOE and Return on Customer Investment when using Array products. You will utilize a range of analytical tasks aimed at optimizing project performance and enhancing market competitiveness in the renewable energy sector.

Key Job Responsibilities:

LCOE Modeling:

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated LCOE models to evaluate the economic viability of renewable energy projects across different technologies and geographies.

  • Analyze and obtain input on various cost components, including capital expenditures, operating expenses, financing costs, insurance costs, and revenue streams to determine the overall cost-effectiveness of projects.

  • Continuously refine and update LCOE models to incorporate evolving market dynamics, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.

  • Work with various 3rd party organizations and obtain industry insight to inform aspects of the LCOE model.

Reliability Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive reliability assessments for renewable energy assets, identifying potential risks and opportunities to enhance asset performance and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to analyze historical performance data, identify reliability trends, and implement strategies to mitigate downtime and maximize uptime.

Coordination with Sales/Marketing:

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop compelling value propositions and tailor product offerings to meet the specific needs of target markets.

  • Provide analytical support to sales efforts, including the preparation of customized financial models, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses to facilitate customer engagement and decision-making.

  • Translate technical insights and market trends into actionable recommendations for sales and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market demands.

  • Serve as Array's expert in LCOE discussions with customers and key internal and external stakeholders.

Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to stay abreast of market dynamics and identify emerging opportunities and threats.

  • Analyze market data and conduct benchmarking exercises to assess the relative performance of our renewable energy offerings and identify areas for differentiation and competitive advantage.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, product management, and regulatory affairs, to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives across the organization.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on renewable energy economics and market dynamics, providing insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making at the corporate level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

  • Prior experience in renewable energy project finance, financial modeling, or LCOE analysis preferred, familiarity with O&M and lifecycle management a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative analysis and financial modeling.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Excel, MATLAB, Python, or other statistical analysis software.
