The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people, and big ideas needed so that no one worries about where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, weve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters, and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:

As a Senior Manager, IT Applications you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's software applications. Your role will involve managing a team of developers, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality applications that meet the needs of our organization.

What Youll Do:

Manage Applications Lifecycle & Performance,

  • Oversee the full software development life cycle (SDLC) for all applications, from requirement gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive applications roadmap, outlining the strategy, priorities, and timelines for application development and enhancements.

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the application development process.

  • Monitor and analyze application performance, identifying and addressing any performance bottlenecks or system issues.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in application development and management.

  • Perform Business Analyst function in gathering and refining requirements

  • Perform QA function on all CI packages

  • Knowledge of DeVOPs process and procedures.

Vendor Management and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party software providers, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and resolving any issues or escalations.

  • Ensure adherence to established coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices, while also promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.

Leads Team:

  • Manage a team of developers and business analysts, providing leadership, guidance, and support in their day-to-day activities.

  • Forms teams with an appropriate and diverse mix of skills, perspectives, and experiences

  • Fosters open dialogue and collaboration.

  • Establishes clear objectives to guide goal achievement.

  • Drives clarity by setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting team members success.

  • Serves as a mentor; develops employees' skills, provides the opportunity for growth.

  • Recognizes employee successes.

  • Supports employee career development; supports team members in acquiring and growing skills and shares expertise.

What Youll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in application development, preferably in multiple programming languages (e.g. .NET, Python)

  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, and experience in applying them in projects

  • Proficiency in managing relational databases and experience with database management systems (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL)

  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), web services (REST, SOAP), and cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative work environment

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on attention to detail and delivering high-quality solutions

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • HRIS and ERP Conversion / Implementation experience

  • Experience with Azure Dataverse, MS Dynamics CRM

  • Demonstrated success in leading ERP rollout
