How you'll make an impact:

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager on the iOS team at SiriusXM/Pandora, you will be responsible for leading a team of developers who build and maintain our iOS and tvOS applications. You will collaborate closely with the larger iOS engineering team to establish best practices that drive our apps, contribute to the design and development of new features for our millions of listeners, and provide guidance to the team in creating best in class media applications.

What you'll do:

• Manage, support, and grow a team of iOS engineers who are responsible for building and improving the SiriusXM and Pandora apps in the Apple ecosystem.

• Aim to continuously enhance the product's overall quality by engaging in training, conducting code reviews, practicing pair programming, and utilizing other methods that set the team up for success.

• Work closely with your peers to collaborate on establishing and improving best practices and patterns for our codebase.

• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to gather and review new requirements.

• Partner with project managers to plan sprints and ensure timely delivery of tasks, while also proactively identifying risks.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree

• 2+ years managing software engineers in a technical organization

• 8+ years of native iOS development

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Swift

• Expert knowledge of developing, testing, and debugging mobile applications using Swift and Objective-C

• Proven ability to recruit and retain world-class engineers

• Experience with SwiftUI, async/await, Combine, Codable, and SPM

• Familiarity with emerging iOS development trends and design patterns

• Strong skills with object-oriented and reactive design

• Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.

• Experience leading teams that build and optimize streaming media applications at scale

• Experience with streaming technologies and audio/video playback through AVPlayer

• Experience architecting cross functional solutions across mobile and backend teams

• Obsession with the performance of software

• Experience troubleshooting issues with caching infrastructure and CDNs from the client-side perspective

• Experience and proven track record of delivering and maintaining software at scale to millions of active users

• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor engineers of all levels

• Excellent managerial skills and interpersonal skills; effectively communicate and collaborate with all areas of engineering, ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under shifting deadlines

• Dedication to thorough testing and creating high quality software

• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $ 101,000 to $ 200,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
