Job Details

  • Manage the planning, execution and reconciliation of the physical inventory counts and the payment of DSD vendors. Responsible for reporting Company shrink results and providing analysis to senior management.

  • Implement best practices and develop team benchmark strengths within the department to ensure efficient operation of the department with a concentration on accuracy and customer service.

  • Assist with the upgrade, design and/or implementation of IT and business processes affecting the Company's financial inventory.

  • Implement and lead strategic projects for cost saving opportunities and find ways to streamline current processes for maximum efficiencies. Responsible for communication and managing the rollout phase of new inventory related initiatives.

  • Supervise the review of store initiated transactions pertaining to the movement and tracking of inventory. Responsible for communicating exceptions to the appropriate level of management.

  • Coaching and mentoring assigned teams

Qualifications

  • Be a team player. Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with others.

  • Be a teacher, mentor and coach. Ability to lead and develop subordinates as well as other departments regarding inventory accounting issues.

  • Have a strong understanding of physical inventory, shrink and payables.

  • Have an intermediate knowledge of the word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to analyze large data sets and effectively communicate complex findings to various levels of the organization, including senior management.

  • Be able to communicate well, both orally and written with strong presentation skills.

Work Experience/Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred, plus 6+ years applicable work experience required, with a strong emphasis in retail inventory accounting and established supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Lead project management for all development, maintenance, and implementation of transportation systems. Responsible for team conducting department financials, budgeting, accounting, and landed cost analytics to drive savings, process improvements, and compliance. Duties & Responsibilities: DC Network Design & Transportation Optimization * Direct all analysis and modeling efforts designed to select future DC sites and conduct pro forma analysis around new distribution concepts * Communicate all analysis and make presentations to senior leadership reflecting 5-year DC opening strategy * Ensure complete and accurate detailed analytics on all projects * Resolve issues and make decisions weekly related to DC workload balancing, scheduling of restricted stores to minimize cost and service impact, and ensuring optimal backhaul assignment Transportation Financial Analytics & Management * Direct team in producing and publishing all financial reports for department * Review and approve month end financial accrual, analysis, and reports * Lead team in all budgeting and forecasting efforts * Lead efforts to conduct ad-hoc analysis to explain variances to plan * Be primary expert in fuel pricing, projections, and industry models Transportation Systems Management * Manage the development, maintenance, and implementation of all transportation systems * Responsible for system parameter testing to ensure optimal solutions for the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other major software suites * Liaison to IT and principal project manager for all systems development and modification * Works with IT and 3rd party software providers to develop enhancements and solutions to better support transportation operations * Be educated on and evaluate potential off-the-shelf applications Landed Cost Analytics * Lead team in analyzing cost components from initial purchase cost to store-door delivery for optimal profit margins * Educates merchandising and supply chain on all components of supply chain and alternative flows * Proactively identifies and initiates analysis through targeted selection, changes in sourcing, or market condition changes * Works with procurement team during auction or bid events to support both initial event work and post-bid conclusion Team development and performance management: * Responsible for the professional development to include training, coaching, and work assignment designed to promote team and individual growth * Hire, manage and conduct performance and development reviews * Manage workload and assist with issues across the HR spectrum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): * Deep working and technical knowledge of transportation management systems designed for problem solving, daily optimization, and strategic optimization solutions * Broad general working knowledge of Logistics operations and concepts in a complex, large-scale operating environment * Extensive knowledge and operating capability in Microsoft Excel and Access * Strong financial analytical and budgetary skills * Strong ability to analyze and decipher significant amounts of data to develop insightful reports and conclusions for the business * Deep desire to obtain knowledge, take initiative, and ask questions to drive improvement * Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written form to senior levels * Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, finance, and accrual principles * Broad experience in project management work both as a leader and supporter * Ability to manage others, train and develop personnel, and lead people * Ability to build key relationships with internal and external business partners * Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and apply time management skills Work Experience &/or Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field required.
