Senior Manager Insights & Analytics - Hybrid

Job Description

Come join our newly formed Enterprise Operations Group, focused on delivering enterprise-wide capabilities that advance Nordstrom's top strategic priorities. This role will become a part of the leadership team for the Clarity Initiative that aims to provide trusted insights from one source of truth for business leaders to make timely decisions and execute effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team to acquire data and build solutions to implement highly dimensional enterprise metrics, KPIs, and insights. You will work closely with and influence a cross-functional network including business leaders, program management, product management, data science, and technology to support, deliver and champion a culture of data-driven decision-making. This role reports to the Director of Clarity, Insights & Analytics.

A day in the life…

• Fine tune the overall vision and strategy for Insights and Analytics in partnership with Clarity leadership, aligning with the Initiative's evolving scope, goals and objectives.

• Lead a team of Insights and Analytics professionals to acquire and develop data and insights to support the Clarity Initiative

• Collaborate closely with product management and engineering to enable scalable end to end data and insights solutions.

• Work closely with program management to identify and drive best practices, standards, and governance in order to deliver trusted insights from one source of truth based on approved definitions and designs.

• Work with business partners to provide insights through analysis to identify root causes of business performance issues;, build interactive tools that codify this knowledge.

• Support end user integration and adoption of trusted enterprise metrics, KPIs, and insights.

• Present insights to executives through data-driven story telling.

• Provide hands-on coaching to team of analysts and foster continuous improvement and innovation with the team.

• Supplement other data-driven initiatives to deliver the Enterprise Operations' vision, as needed.

You own this if you have…

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree a plus.

• 7+ years of related work experience analyzing data and delivering business insights

• Strong leadership skills with minimum of 3 years managing analysts.

• Ability to proactively identify opportunities to improve existing analytics delivery processes and effectively advocate necessary changes to a senior leadership audience.

• Experience with Agile rhythms and ceremonies.

• Skilled at taking business questions, demonstrate curiosity with business stakeholders and designing an analytical approach to address with limited information

• Experience with advanced analytical methods to address complex business problems.

• Comfortable with end-to-end analytical modeling processes and experience with deployment

• Strong quantitative skills, including proven expertise in model building and insight generation.

• Strong data visualization skills in Tableau or complementary visualization tools to build self-service dashboards for end users.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with the ability to influence and persuade senior leadership and stakeholders, leveraging visualization tools and PowerPoint.

• Expert in SQL and thorough understanding of database architecture; able to hold a high bar and socialize best practices, while educating team members on standards

• Experience with data architectures and cloud solutions like GCP, Data Bricks is a plus.

• Proven experience independently managing cross-functional projects, delivering high quality results on tight timelines with minimal direction from leadership.

• Experience with data governance a plus.

• Knowledge of merchandise, inventory and supply chain planning systems a plus

• Knowledge of financial and/or operational metrics and KPIs a plus.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $191,000 - $297,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
