Role Summary The Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering will oversee several key strategic industrial engineering activities for the design and development of a new product launch. This individual will be responsible for driving efficiency improvements, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring that new product introduction timelines and quality standards are met for Manufacturing Engineering. The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless execution. Responsibilities Set benchmarking targets for new launches, new products for direct, and indirect labor counts, Key KPI for new model costing Set Conversion cost targets for all new model launches Drive template for world-class org structure for the salaried workforce in operations Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and process optimization for the new product. Increase efficiencies of operator Launch War room process Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to identify, analyze, and resolve any production-related issues during the product launch phase and implement sustainable solutions. Lead the development and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production efficiency, and product quality, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. Develop and present labor for make vs. buy proposals to guide strategic decision-making for cost optimization and resource allocation. Establish and monitor targets for labor and indirect costs, ensuring effective cost management and driving efficiency improvements in operations. Ensure compliance with industry safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 15 Years total, 10+ years of experience in industrial engineering within the automotive or manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in managing new product launches, within the automotive sector. Experience developing standards Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and process optimization techniques. Ability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for optimizing manufacturing processes. Strong communicator, able to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and foster collaboration to drive consensus and alignment on key initiatives. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines in the automotive manufacturing industry in North America. Preferred Skills: Advanced engineering degree or MBA Pay Disclosure Salary Range for Normal, IL/Plymouth, MI-based applicants: $161,000 - $213,260 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).
