This position is ideal for a mechanically or electrically inclined individual experienced in both high volume manufacturing with lean methodologies and latest manufacturing technology that would utilize lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 leading industry trends. The position offers a challenging and varied work environment where you will be a key player in the organization, shaping our success by identifying/evaluating BAT (Best Available Technology) for current manufacturing operations and being a key contributor to the development of new processes maintaining a grasp of manufacturability but also having a vision to bring that new product to market with best manufacturing practices and available equipment technology.

Job Summary

Identifies opportunities in current and future manufacturing processes through the use of capacity planning tools, technical assessments, information from the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or other sources to determine solutions in order to maximize production efficiency, ensuring compliance with current standards or manufacturing build standards at all times. The job will require carrying out financial cost benefit analysis, safety reviews of proposals and product risk assessments of any changes proposed and presented to the leadership team with project benefits and timelines. This position will work closely with manufacturing engineering and development teams once the project proposal is approved to ensure clear understanding of progress and handover to final production implementation. A key area of the job is enabling tools for the end users to report manufacturing operation status and highlight issues so experience in software systems in a manufacturing environment is also key to the success of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility identifying opportunities for improvement that identifies in process waste.

  • Ensuring clear specifications are provided to vendors for all Capex purchases.

  • Develop tools for all cost models to be generated for current and new processes that will drive improvement opportunities.

  • Provide overview and direction for the manufacturing execution system (MES) and support day to day activities.

  • Define and scope strategic projects relating to equipment, process improvement, efficiency measurement and cost reduction.

  • Interfacing with Operations and Development teams before during and after implementation of improvement programs.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining manufacturing cost models for current and new processes.

  • Prepare and present reports on the status of projects to senior management.

  • Recruit, train, manage and retain design engineering resources.

  • Develop methods to reduce operating costs and maximize production output while ensuring maximum product quality and revenue.

  • Design and develop control system to minimize costs and production issues.

  • Work with manufacturing teams to ensure lean cleanroom layouts are implemented to drive maximum efficiency.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • BSME or BSM or Industrial Engineering Degree or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and job experience.

  • A minimum of 7 years' semiconductor or related industry experience.

  • Leads teams in establishing goals and driving programs for operational excellence through use of best practices and keeping abreast of industry developments.

  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of the production process associated with the manufacturing assembly of semiconductor & related peripheral technology products.

  • A demonstrated understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, and SPC.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work in & foster a teamwork environment.

  • Commitment to staying current with the continuous evolution of technology.

  • A strong understanding of Enterprise software systems including but not limited to manufacturing execution systems and latest smart manufacturing technologies.

  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

The starting salary range corresponding to the role is as follows:

$121.100.00 - $173,000.00 USD Annual
