Position: Senior Manager II, Energy Services Texas Retail Energy
Job Location: 2608 SE J Street, Bentonville, AR 72716
Duties: Develops and manages short and long term load forecasts by the hour at the meter, zone, and portfolio level; Managing internal ETRM systems (Energy Trading and Risk Management) and operational market settlements, valuations, mark-to-market reports, scorecards and dashboards; Preparing and calculating rates and consumptions for rate build exercise across various energy markets, utilities and zones; Performing balance of the month load and price forecasting; Creating statistical models and techniques to optimize load forecasting models; Performing data integration from discrete data sources and systems to help with the operational reports; Implementing data platform and develops data models to streamline data extracts, calculations, and report generation; Monitoring utility rates decisions by performing or coordinating in-depth rate and pricing analyses; Preparing reports, dashboards that support operations and decision analytics using business intelligence tools; Developing and implementing decision tools, process improvements to support business operations, reports, and new initiatives; Generating roadmaps and architectures for data platform to support on-premise and cloud-based data services; Redesigning and migrating existing data platform to scalable data warehouse and cloud platforms; Automating workflows and reporting processes to reduce manual efforts, increase efficiency to improve process and reliability; Maintaining user and system access to support access control using access tools and digital certificates; Participates in sustainable and renewable energy opportunities and initiatives by developing overall strategies for the assigned region; Managing external relationships with vendors and partners to support business needs; Manages, maintains and upgrades infrastructure needs including hardware, security, tools and software to ensure business efficiency, network security and business continuity; Manages data sharing practices, policies, security protocols, vendor systems integration to enhance data integrity and reduce data compromise; Assessing application security risks and privacies to analyze impacts to the architecture, data elements, solution and vendor systems; Provides design, solution to support business expansion into new competitive markets.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, or related field plus 4 years of experience in utility operations, renewable energy, or related experience; OR 6 years of experience in utility operations, renewable energy, or related experience.
Skills required: Must have experience with: Develop and fine-tune statistical models for load forecasting using parametric and non-parametric models such as K-Nearest Neighbors, multiple linear regressions, and other techniques; Improve forecast accuracy by analyzing factors, errors and fitness using data analysis libraries in Python and R; Develop and manage Microsoft SQL Server ETL packages (Extract Transform and Load) for data capture using SSIS; Perform data management activities on SQL server using SQL Server Data Tools and Management Studio; Design, build, and manage complex queries using SQL objects such as stored procedures, user functions, indexes, tables, and views; Design and migrate existing Excel-based reports to Data visualization tools using PowerBI and perform calculations using DAX scripts; Develop KPI's and create drill-down reports, dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI; Perform object-oriented programming to develop windows application using C# on .Net framework; Integrate discrete data sources from Vendor support platforms, databases, file shares using SSIS, API Webservices (SOAP XML), Data Manager and custom programs developed in C#, Visual Basic Applications (Excel macros), and Python; Create a road map and architecture to move the current process to Cloud-Based services (Microsoft Azure). Analyze internal and external systems using internal Security Risk and Compliance Review tool to assess the impacts to architecture, data elements and security; and Manage Microsoft Azure and Office subscription tools to support users as well as data needs.
