Senior Manager, Hematology Franchise Operations (E5) Hematology Marketing

Position Summary

The Hematology Universe consists of a team that manages a portfolio of in-line and pipeline products

across several hematologic malignancies. Within this franchise are key medicines that have had significant impact on the lives of patients with hematologic malignancies: VENCLEXTA, GAZYVA, RITUXAN HYCELA, and now POLIVY. Several of these medicines have transformed patient care and have received multiple Breakthrough Therapy designations for the treatment of hematologic malignancies.

This Senior Manager of Hematology Franchise Operations will lead key initiatives in support of the Hematology portfolio in partnership with the Franchise marketing and operations team, Disease Area Team Owners (DATO), Franchise leadership and cross-functional partners. This Senior Manager will lead the planning and execution of our major franchise meetings (eg sales meetings), lead franchise communications, lead marketing engagement planning, and be a key partner to our advocacy relations team. This role will report to the Venclexta CLL and Franchise Marketing Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead meeting planning for our major franchise meetings (eg NFM, One Genentech) including:

  • Developing meeting objectives, agenda and presentation stories for senior leaders

  • Leading pre- and post- meetings communications

  • Partnering with BioOnc ops to pull through theme and agenda management

  • Leading execution of meeting creative tactics

  • Managing logistics, including partnering with meeting and convention services and engaging speakers

  • Ensuring appropriate capture and sharing of lessons learned post-meeting (eg meeting survey)

  • Lead development and implementation of the hematology franchise communications plan

  • Develop and manage franchise calendar of events, building synergies and coordination amongst the team and ensuring changes are clearly updated and communicated

  • Lead consolidated marketing communications to the field teams (ie The HEMAGRAM)

  • Manage communication vendors/contractors for tactical execution and budget compliance

  • Lead hematology culture and engagement initiatives

  • Develop and execute key heme network rewards and recognition activities

  • Partner with marketing leadership on key culture and engagement initiatives

  • Plan and execute Hematology offsites

  • Ensure pull through of BU level and cross-commercial initiatives

  • Support execution and implementation of key franchise marketing tactics

  • Monitor speaker bureau performance

  • Track congress plan execution and coordinate with field team for implementation

  • Ensure and track implementation of GPO Summit and IPP plans

  • Partner with advocacy relations on implementation of the patient advocacy strategy

  • Execute administrative project responsibilities related to franchise team deliverables and priorities

  • Manage overall budget for Franchise team

  • Foster agile method adoption

  • Develop and coordinate continuous process improvements and updates to planning processes, templates and tools

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing / Business preferred

  • MBA or other related graduate level degree preferred

  • Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meeting


  • 12-15 years work experience with previous product marketing, sales, vendor/project management or meeting planning experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology/or other related industry

  • Experience managing agencies/vendors, timelines and budgets

  • Operations experience in other relevant industries

  • Experience partnering with senior leadership
