The Digital Orthopedic Surgery team is bringing innovation to intraoperative patient care. We are using robotics and other digital tools for surgical teams to improve patient outcomes. The Senior Manager of Front End Orthopedic Robotics plays a critical role leading a cross-functional team to deliver innovative medical proof of concepts and prototypes of new technologies and applications. This Senior Manager will report to the Director, Front-End Orthopedic Robotics. This person will collaborate to prototype, design, and implement innovative solutions. He/she will be part of a wider team that includes software, hardware, electrical engineers working in different locations, communicating primarily in English.
Own delivery of Front End feasibility projects including new orthopedic robotics applications and new technologies to be used with the robot - responsible for technical and programmatic decisions, ensuring the right output is delivered, while balancing scope, resources, and schedule
Work with digital and franchise GSM partners to define scope and requirements for Front End feasibility projects
Work with team to develop surgical techniques/workflows for new applications
Create plan and drive cross-functional execution of Front-End feasibility projects with technical team, GSM, Legal, Business Dev, external partners, etc.
Drive projects according to Front End Product Development process; participate in definition and refinement of this process
Author feasibility plans, project charter, and other Front End process deliverables
Serve as scrum master for SW and other agile project deliverables
Identify risks and mitigations, escalate needs as appropriate
Communicate project progress, needs, etc. to various stakeholders in the organization
Participate in transfer of knowledge to ensure seamless transition to NPD team
Contribute to strategy decisions for digital pipeline
Participate in IP generation and business development activities related to Front End work
The base pay range for this position is 122,000 to 268,400.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science or related degree
10 years of experience working as an Engineering Manager or Technical Program Manager
Experience managing complex software and hardware projects
Experience with developing products in at least two of the three: orthopedic medical devices, robotics, AR/VR
Collaborative, creative, resourceful mindset, comfortable working in uncertainty and in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
Effective and comfortable motivating, and holding others accountable with or without direct-line supervisory responsibility
Excellent technical problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor content and style to audience
Excellent detail oriented organizational skills
Knowledgeable in orthopedic surgical techniques and anatomy
Experience managing proof of concept projects aimed at proving feasibility and mitigating risks
