This role focuses on expanding the Applebee's Grill + Bar business domestically, with both existing and new franchisees. This expansion occurs through the identification and engagement of new franchisees in new and existing markets, as well as developing and managing processes to find, qualify, and induct new franchisees into the Applebee's family.
Additionally, the role involves collaboration with Franchise Administration, Legal, Franchise Marketing, Market Planning, and Applebee's Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
Proactively seeks and pursues qualified candidates in target markets.
Identifies potential new franchisees in targeted geographies; facilitates qualification and induction process.
Builds rapport and relationships with existing franchise partners and new prospects to promote brand growth.
Facilitates the receipt and completion of all required documentation necessary for prospect approval.
Guides potential franchise partners through the research and education about the franchise opportunity
Collaborates with Operations Vice President's and VP, Development to identify opportunities and build strategic development plans for the Brand in targeted geographies.
This person must be able to collaborate with new site deal makers, design/construction members, operations, facilities, accounting, finance, lease administration and legal.
Collaborate with brokers, landlords and developers to implement the companies new store expansion strategy
Helps evaluate franchisee business plans and site packages to assure both franchise health and compliance with brand standards
Applies financial analysis to proactively identify opportunities and initiatives to strengthen, improve and drive new market entries.
Present strategic analyses and business opportunities in clear and understandable terms to leadership team as well as third parties
Due diligence and analysis of all pro-formas and business plans submitted as part of packages for new market entry opportunities.
Follows company policies, upholds professional standards, and performs all work in a manner respectful of others.
Base Salary $140,000
Skills & Requirements:
Minimum 5 years Development experience
Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce, Finance, Architecture
Negotiation skills
Strong ability to build relationships
Time management and organization skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment
Up to 60% travel required
Strong team orientation and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle stressful situations and work with difficult clientele in a respectful and courteous manner
Excellent oral and written skills
Experience working in a multi-unit, franchise focused organization.
Solid grounding in restaurant industry, including a good professional network.
Process oriented, detail oriented, project oriented with good commercial and analytical skills.
Fun to work with and has an appreciation for food and restaurant business
Experience in the restaurant or retail industry
