Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As the Senior Manager of FP&A, you will be crucial in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making within our organization. Here are your key responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Collaborate with division and corporate finance teams to support monthly operating reviews, annual and long-range plans.

  • Optimize and streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Consolidate financial data for the Gearing division, including month-end, forecast, and strategic plan figures.

  • Identify risks and opportunities, evaluate alternatives, and assess potential consequences.

  • Prepare monthly financial packages, business unit reviews, and presentations for the President's Operating Review.

Budget Coordination:

  • Coordinate divisional and functional budgets, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

Revenue and Margin Tracking:

  • Monitor revenue and gross margin by business unit and product lines.

  • Analyze trends and communicate insights to drive informed decision-making.

Standardization and Process Improvement:

  • Standardize reporting tools and templates across the Gearing Division (including Plants, Commercial Gearing, Engineered Drives, and Europe).

  • Own the calendar of Gearing deliverables.

Strategic Projects and Financial Support:

  • Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, such as capital spend allocations, cash flow projections, and M&A activities.

Effective Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial expectations, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Present results to the Leadership Team on a monthly basis.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Support internal control processes to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company accounting policies.

Business Partnership:

  • Partner with operational and commercial leaders to drive sustainable business growth.

  • Share insights and optimize profitability.

Transition Management:

  • Support the transition from HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) to OneStream, including reconciliation, reporting template development, and acting as a super-user for the division.

Critical Competencies

To excel in this role, you should possess the following competencies:

  • Manufacturing/Cost Accounting Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures.

  • Analytical Acumen: Ability to analyze complex financial data and solve problems.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Independence and Collaboration: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

  • Cross-Functional Interaction: Comfortable interacting with employees at various levels and across decentralized teams.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in FP&A or a related finance role.

  • Strong manufacturing background with excellent analytical skills.

  • Advanced Excel user (Pivot Tables, SUMIF, IF, VLOOKUP, etc.).

  • ERP experience, preferably with Oracle.

  • Familiarity with financial reporting systems such as HFM or OneStream.

  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated mindset.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
