The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis, plays a key role in updating forecasts based on release date changes and uploading budgets into Cognos Planning Analytics (PA). The position also involves generating project performance P&Ls for actuals vs budgets, managing the system data for creating catalog budgets and helping with catalog budget cycles. The position also supports updating existing financial models for detailed cost of sales planning. Strong system skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
What you'll do:
Budget Management:
Actualize the budget and live forecast models when the month is closed.
Replace budget challenges and assumptions with real projects/releases.
Adjust forecasts in response to release date changes for up-to-date financial planning.
Support updating the budget models for detailed cost of sales planning, ensuring accuracy.
Manage the system data used for creating the budgets/forecasts for catalog and new release labels.
Upload budgets and forecasts into the Cognos PA software.
Help with catalog budget process during mid-year forecast and annual budget cycles.
Reporting and Analysis:
Create Actual vs Budget reports for 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and the full year performance.
Build and distribute weekly release schedule reports to relevant stakeholders.
Provide data related to the annual Budget / Forecast as requested.
System Implementation:
Assist with testing the new release model built in (Cognos PA).
Support testing the new Cognos budgeting templates.
Assist with ad-hoc projects related to Cognos PA work.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
3-5 years of finance and accounting experience
Strong Microsoft Excel ability (Xlookup, Sumif, Pivot Table, Sort and Filter Large Data, Manage Links).
Ability to work within different systems (e.g. Cognos, NetSuite). Experience with Cognos Planning and Analytics is plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with large sets of data
Strong financial reporting experience and ability to present explanation of results
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent attention to detail and problem resolution skills
Ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Good judgement, particularly with respect to confidential matters
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
