Jack Henry & Associates, a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services, is hiring an Accounting Senior Manager to join our growing team within the Corporate Finance department. The Accounting Senior Manager is responsible for preparing budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and opportunities, and reviewing costs and preparing recommendations. This position will collaborate with and support the Chief Technology Officer as well as other corporate departments such as travel, HR, legal. This position will prepare and evaluate business case modeling for the Enterprise Architecture Group. A successful candidate will have strong communication and financial analysis skills as well as significant business case modeling experience.

This position will be filled to work out of any of the following Jack Henry office locations: Springfield, MO (Montclair) / Allen, TX and or Lenexa, KS.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and or finance.

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% to attend meetings, training and or a professional conference.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA.
  • CPA certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.

  • Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts.

  • Participates in annual audits and special projects.

  • Reviews P&L and SOP at a consolidated level and a detail level.

  • Acts as the accounting liaison to operations.

  • Assists operations managers with financial processes and procedures; collaborate with operations managers to complete their budgeting and forecasting processes, including meeting with Executives.

  • Responsible for regulatory reporting and compliance issues and research.

  • Ensure SEC reporting is completed accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.

  • Ensures area of responsibility is in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).

  • May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.

Description Accountabilities This position is responsible for ensuring execution of Enterprise Technology & Experience (ETX) monthly IT actuals and forecasting within MassMutual's enterprise tools of CA PPM Cloud (project), SAP project systems and associated input to Hyperion is completed in accordance with our enterprise-wide policies, processes, and governance routines. The candidate will work collaboratively across ETX management team to improve monthly forecast versus actuals accuracy, including invoice processing and monthly accrual submissions. This includes performing analysis and also identifying training opportunities for management team members, as well as project managers, relative to financial management. This resource will coordinate associated updates from organizational changes across ETX, from the perspective of ensuring PPM resource pools and project forecasts are properly aligned, as well as partnering with Finance on Hyperion cost center structure and workforce planning updates are completed. The IT Financial Data Management Consultant will provide independent thought and experiential knowledge to the Process Owner - Resource & IT Financial Management regarding process improvements, as well as to Portfolio Leads/Managers regarding forecast corrective actions. The candidate will also interact with the Technology Business Management process owner to ensure a clear understanding of process changes and the impact to data in the Apptio tool. Other MassMutual enterprise tools to be leveraged in this role are Apptio, Ariba, SAP, Workday, and our internal Accrual process. Expense types include internal & external labor, third-party fixed fee contracts, software & hardware licenses and fees, and training & travel. Effective interpersonal and communications skills are essential to operating in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities * * Track record of successful management of conflicting priorities * A consummate relationship builder and a trusted advisor * Create resource & financial management policies, processes, and governance routines * Create annual and monthly reporting and variance analysis routines * Work with Controllers & IT Finance to create and govern capitalization/amortization routines * Synthesize data and variance comments, and provide strategic and tactical consultation to the executive and senior leadership team * Serve as the financial liaison between ETX and IT Finance * Build cooperative relationships with IT leadership, Strategic Portfolio & Financial Management, IT Finance, and other process stakeholders to establish the best forecast possible for the program * Skills * Excellent financial analysis skills, including Advanced Excel skills * Prior successful use of CA PPM Cloud, Hyperion, Workday, Ariba, SAP systems (or similar), relative to IT project financials * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: ability to convey complex issues, explain methodologies, and influence resolutions in writing and orally * Ability to design streamlined, easy to follow training materials & communications * Efficiency-minded and experienced in lean business systems * Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) * Results-oriented * * Education & Experience * Bachelors' Degree or equivalent work experience * 8+ years' experience in a financial position (preferably IT Finance), or project management position with a strong emphasis on financials * Strong financial acumen * Experience managing a $400M+ portfolio and/or serving as a program manager * Demonstrated commitment to talent development; enjoys mentoring and providing OTJ training * Intimate knowledge of Resource & Financial management practices in a mature IT organization, with 8+ years' experience with resource & financial management (budget, actuals, variance analysis and mitigation) * Agile experience * Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future * Preferred Experience * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field * Prior IT Finance or budget responsibility of $400M+ strongly preferred Why Join Us.
