Position Description:

Advises on strategic priorities using asset management industry databases -- SimFund, Bloomberg, and eVestment. Develops and executes a strategic vision for Continuous Integration (CI) activities. Develops and interprets information by formulating and applying mathematical models and optimizing methods. Presents business strategy and results, including quarterly business reviews, all hands meetings, and board meetings using PowerPoint and Excel. Develops and supplies optimal timing, costing, or logistics networks for programming evaluation, reviewing, or implementation. Studies and analyzes information on alternative courses of action to determine which plan will offer optimal outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the completion of benchmarks studies.

  • Develops decision support software, service, or products.

  • Identifies and assesses strategic and competitive opportunities.

  • Prepares management reports.

  • Defines and evaluates problems and recommends solutions.

  • Assists management in decision making and policy formulation.

  • Completes time-sensitive analysis of key events -- mergers and acquisitions.

  • Collaborates with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.

  • Researches and assesses asset management industry trends and competitive dynamics.

  • Collaborates across business units on cross-functional reports and analysis.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Finance (or closely related occupation) conducting industry research and data analysis on financial institutions and asset managers using Bloomberg, Morningstar, SimFund, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Finance (or closely related occupation) conducting industry research and data analysis on financial institutions and asset managers using Bloomberg, Morningstar, SimFund, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") researching and analyzing financial institutions -- Banks, Insurance Companies or Asset Managers -- by extracting, mining, triangulating, and analyzing data from industry sources (SimFund, Morningstar, CapitalIQ, or Bloomberg) using data analysis, synthesis, and delivery.

  • DE preparing customized, executive-level PowerPoint presentations using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) to identify and analyze competitive and industry trends, key news events, or specific industry topics and assessing the strategic implications for use by senior business stakeholders.

  • DE creating regular (weekly, monthly, or quarterly) reports or articles covering financial industry trends, competitive dynamics, or investment market developments for consumption by a wide audience of business associates and/or external industry participants.

  • DE providing management or oversight of junior researchers or analysts focused on conducting secondary research or financial analysis on financial industry firms or investment market data; and monitoring team utilization and providing quality control in the development of presentations, reports, or articles for use by senior business stakeholders.
