Overview and Responsibilities

Responsible for the accurate and timely accounting review and reporting of Viacom consolidated financial results. This position reports to the VP, Financial Reporting.

  • Prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures for Viacom's Form 10-Q and 10-K reporting, as well as supporting analytics as required

  • Prepare and analyze divisional free cash flow and consolidated statement of cash flows

  • Analyze information prepared by the divisions and coordinate with finance and operational teams at the divisions to better understand information they have reported

  • Prepare and review financial information for quarterly earnings release and presentations in coordination with Corporate Communications and Investor Relations teams

  • Prepare weighted-average share count calculations for actual and budget purposes, and perform analytical procedures around EPS and share count

  • Assist with various ad hoc management projects/requests (accounting policy updates, goodwill/intangible impairment testing, technical research, etc.)

  • Ensure that all relevant key controls are in place and functioning properly in accordance with internal policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley

  • Work with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits to ensure timely satisfaction of requests

  • Manage a small team (1-2 analysts) to assist in the above tasks and support their professional growth

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • A minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in a broad range of general accounting functions

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt message and style depending on audience

  • Self-starter with ability to take ownership of tasks and effectively prioritize concurrent deliverables

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Prior entertainment/media experience a plus

  • Experience in HFM, Longview and Workiva a plus
