MX is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers while also working with a cross-functional team of designers, writers, data scientists, quality assurance engineers, product marketers, sales, and client relationship managers to build, deliver and maintain innovative Developer Experience products that drive MX's mission.

Job Duties

• Hire and manage a high performance team of engineers

• Design, build, launch, and maintain high quality software products with your team.

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.

• Establish a sense of urgency and meeting delivery commitments while continuously managing technical debt and non-functional requirements

• Set specific, measurable goals for your engineers in alignment with the broader organization's goals. Provide feedback and coaching through regular one-on-ones, impromptu discussions, and formal, semi-annual performance reviews

• Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)

• Empower, challenge, and coach a team of senior engineers to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback

• Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Engineering teams and customers throughout engineering

Job Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer preferred, including full stack web and API development

• 5+ years of experience as an engineering leader preferred

• Knowledge and experience using agile software development processes

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at active listening

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure engineers are exceeding the needs of the business

• The ability to coach engineers into shipping high quality, maintainable, and well tested code in a fast paced environment

Work Environment

At MX, we utilize a hybrid work model, which allows us to attract top talent and increase impact through collaboration. Our team members enjoy a balance of remote work and in-office days. Travel expectations for remote employees is about 15%, and the company covers travel expenses for remote employees. Local employees will utilize in-office time on a weekly basis Tuesday through Thursday. Both local and remote employees can take advantage of our incredible office space with onside perks like company-paid meals, onsite massage therapist, golf simulator, and meditation room to name a few.

Compensation

The expected on-target earnings (OTE), which is comprised of a base salary and other forms of cash compensation, such as bonus or commissions is currently $169,500 to $203,250. This pay range is just one component of MX's total rewards package. MX takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location, skillset, peer compensation.
