The EH&S Manager, based in Austin, TX will be responsible for driving the elimination of Workers' Compensation costs. This position will work closely with EHS, HR and Operations to develop and execute case management programs to establish an effective Workers' Compensation program and implement Corporate EHS programs created to minimize risk of injuries and illnesses and ensure regulatory compliance. The Senior Manager, EHS will also work closely with the North American CREF Director (to whom the site EHS personnel report) on the execution of these processes and report directly to the Senior Director, Global EHS.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
Drive overall EHS excellence by providing technical expertise and implementing initiatives that will improve EHS performance throughout the U.S. and Canada through minimizing risk and liabilities. This will involve multiple EHS disciplines including, but not limited to industrial hygiene, ergonomics, machine safety, waste management, and environmental permitting.
Stay apprised of current and upcoming local, state, and federal EHS regulations
Develop and lead the case management program which will include Workers' Compensation, Return to Work, Fit For Duty, and Physical Demands Assessments.
Analyze and evaluate the data and information provided from Traveler's and our Workday Incident Management system to ensure we have a risk-based and data driven approach to risk and injury reduction and the associated costs.
Facilitate quarterly Workers' Compensation Reviews with our third-party broker, insurance company and key internal team members
Deploy a risk assessment process that systematically and sustainably reduces risk of injuries, illnesses, and environmental impact
Drive the execution of an effective incident reporting and analysis process providing effective root cause analysis, actions that prevent recurrence, lessons learned, and quality data
Mentor, guide and coach site EHS professionals in executing Workers' Compensation and EHS execution plans
Leverage EHS best practices across the region
Build cross-functional relationships with Business and Functional leaders to foster support for continual EHS improvement.
Support due diligence associated with Merger & Acquisition activity, post-merger integration, and real estate transactional management.
Any other duties as assigned by the manager
Here is some of what you'll need (required):
Minimum of 10 years of EHS or related experience
5 Years work experience in Corporate EHS
Extensive technical knowledge and experience with EHS Management systems and their deployment (ISO14001 and 45001)
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-site/regional EHS programs and people.
Experience leading/managing a large, complex site.
Display strong judgment, problem-solving, analytical and crisis management skills
Demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility and lead by influence across all levels of the organization.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and presence in meetings and training environments, particularly with populations having only functional English skills.
Working knowledge of US and Canada's EHS related regulations to clearly and simply articulate requirements.
Handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
Travel up to 25% (dependent on business needs and fluctuation)

Industrial Hygiene Certification or demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM desirable
