Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Senior Manager, Development and Ops Analytics to join our team at the Parsippany

  • 22 Sylvan Way location in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning & Analytics (SP&A) Franchise Development and Portfolio Management will support the delivery of data and analytical capabilities to the Sales and Development team. Your output will drive actionable insights for enhanced property/franchisee selection and portfolio growth/optimization. This position will use data to determine the key metrics and attributes that define success for each of our 20 brands. These insights will be used at each stage of the franchisee lifecycle: locating new owners/franchisees, retaining high performing and high potential properties, repositioning properties within the portfolio, and terminating undesirable locations. The learnings in this role will provide insights to help ensure optimal selection of owner/franchisee and the right property, and marrying those with the right brand. Through the use of data and analytics, this role will help grow, strengthen and optimize a 9,000+ hotels operating in over 80 countries across 20 different brands.

Responsibilities

Identify five to ten major responsibilities of the position. Assign a weight to each responsibility reflecting its relative importance in comparison to the total responsibilities of the position. The total should equal 100%. Include the key client for each responsibility.
1.Data Analytics: Define the metrics and attributes that define success for each of our brands. Work closely with Brand leadership to optimize brand portfolio. Identify key markets to open new franchises as well as markets with good conversion/brand flip opportunities. Put together financial models laying out favorable deal terms to acquire top owners/properties. Determine key attributes that lead to property terminations. Sales/Development team

2.Tool/Vendor Management/Optimization: Own relationship with site selection/portfolio optimization vendor. Use tool to understand data and attributes that are driving hotel failure/success and to locate new/untapped market opportunities. 3rd Party Vendor

3.Market Research: Analyze the markets in which we currently operate and identify new markets for entry. Gain an understanding of current industry practices related to sales and development. The Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning & Analytics (SP&A) Franchise Development and Portfolio Management will support the Sales and Development team with the use of data and analytics that are vital to the success of the team. This person will help grow the number and quality of properties in our system. Each property in our system generates royalties which contribute directly to EBITDA. More properties and/or better properties lead to more/higher room revenues and therefore higher/more royalties.

Experience/Certificates/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Math, Statistics, Data Science, or closely related field;
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience in a business analytics, data science, or comparable data/analytics role;

The Senior Manager, Commercial Analytics is responsible for monitoring business developments and market trends, and maintaining on-going analytical tools, reports, and systems. Primary responsibilities encompass the creation, refinements, and updates to business report presentations, dashboards, and routine analyses; in addition to various ad-hoc analysis requests to support management decision making.
