A Manager of Data Engineering will lead the team responsible for building solutions for data engineering problems via software engineering. This manager will be focused on driving strategic horizontal initiatives that advance the skills and capabilities of the organization, while at the same time improving the level of enablement for business partners and stakeholders. He/she will manage a team of engineers, while partnering across organizations both in engineering and in business.

  • Build the next-generation data foundations and highly scalable and configurable data pipelines that feed Zoom's customer-facing data as well as internal reporting and analytics, leveraging latest technologies (Redshift, Spark, Athena, Hadoop, DynamoDB, Kafka, Airflow ...etc)

  • Drive execution of data solution and technology roadmap by collaborating with cross-functional teams, products, analysts, engineering, operations, marketing, sales ops and machine learning experts

  • Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs

  • Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity

  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning, while holding a high bar for craftsmanship

  • Maintain rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices

  • Drive design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production

  • Manage, monitor and maintain AWS infrastructure with the help from experts in the team

  • Lead and manage engineering team(s) with a passion for mentoring and growing top engineering talent

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or related practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S Degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Strong management skills for planning and executing complex multi-team projects

  • Strong communication skills and internal customer focus

  • Strong sense of ownership and pride on the quality of data

  • Experience building and running in production, distributed large scale data management systems with elements of metadata management, schedulers, and data quality frameworks

  • Experience E2E in big data space (Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Python, Java), Enterprise data solutions and AWS experience

  • Ability to recruit for and manage technical teams

  • Ability to work with geographically distributed teams

  • Knowledge and experience of working with machine learning systems will be a plus

Who You Are * 15+ years of experience in system level development preferably in the server/computer/network/storage industry. * Experience with high speed design signal integrity issues, power distribution techniques and modern processors. * Experience with High Speed Network Interfaces (10G/25G/100G). * Experience with FPGA Design. * Experience with PCIe adaptors and switches. * Experience with x86 architecture is preferred. * Hands on board design knowledge, familiar with design tools including Cadence Concept, and Allegro. * Experience with pre/post silicon activities and development preferred. * Ability to collaborate with other disciplines, including software, mechanical and signal integrity. * Proven experience with shipping products. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills. * Job will require 5%-10% traveling. * Master of Science in Electronic or Computer Engineering is required.
