Position Summary

As the Senior Manager, Creative Operations you'll work closely with internal Walmart Creative Studio teams, Marketing partners, and external vendors to establish a strategic ecosystem of resources, processes, tools, and metrics that support the internal agency's priorities and future state. You will help create a culture that values operational excellence, data-driven decisions, and continuous innovation to our ways of working. As part of the Creative Business Operations team, this role works closely with Business Operations, Tools & Innovation, Creative, Integrated Production, Account Management, and Project Management - proactively identifying the most impactful initiatives to foster collaboration and strategic alignment to business opportunities. You will codify processes, roles & responsibilities, requirements, and internal references into easily understood playbooks and guidance documents. Central to this role is strategic management of outsourcing design production, both offshore and through automation solutions, reporting on optimization opportunities and savings to the Marketing org. Your love for operations within a creative environment will help bring new rigor and innovation to the Creative Studio infrastructure.

This role is responsible for collaborating with Account Management and Project Management to define and govern clear R&Rs and processes, partnering with Creative Experience & Engagement to support internal development and knowledge sharing, and working with Marketing Operations and Agency Relations to curate and scale Marketing-wide best practices and policies. This role must also partner with Creative and Production to deeply understand and collaborate on new, innovative ways of working to drive efficiency and savings.

Example of duties:

  • Act as liaison to leaders across Creative Business Operations, Creative, Integrated Production, and Marketing partners to define and govern agency-wide ways of working.

  • Establish operational processes that help the Walmart Creative Studio collaborate more efficiently and drive operational innovation for how we produce work and partner across the enterprise.

  • Lead the strategy, management, and optimization of design production outsourcing/resourcing, in partnership with Account Management, Project Management, and Integrated Production.

  • Act as the operational lead for internal post-program review sessions, defining the related process, documentation, and change management.

  • Translate operational opportunities into compelling business cases with solution options, measurement frameworks, and planned change management.

  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations and Agency Relations to establish and govern best practices for vendor management, including supplier categorization, evaluations, selection, engagement, scoping, and performance reviews.

  • Establish best practices for the Creative & Business Operations team in terms of collaboration, intake, project tracking, documentation, and storage.

  • Partner with the Digital Asset Manager & Librarian to support agency-wide knowledge management, storage solutions and related tools/processes.

  • Develop and maintain playbooks and reference materials that codify Walmart Creative Studio and Creative Business Operations' processes, requirements, best practices, and support content.

  • Skilled at owning and switching between strategic initiatives with senior partners and owning granular operational details and problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field and 3 years' experience in editorial content management or related field OR 5 years' experience in editorial content management or related field.

  • 3+ years managing people and/or functional teams related to creative operations.

  • Proven success defining, launching, and governing scalable solutions that support Creative and Production operations, quality of work, efficiency, cost savings, and value proposition.

  • Familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures of brand, design, production, social, marketing, and advertising industries.

  • Experience managing external vendors across full life cycle touchpoints: creating preferred rosters, evaluations, scope development, performance reviews, and relationship management.

  • Expert prioritization skills with ability to champion creative team to produce high-quality deliverables on time.

  • Well versed in project management technologies; experience with WorkFront a plus.

  • High emotional intelligence, people-person, manages expectations well across a wide variety of partners and expertise areas.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills (verbal & written)

  • Ability to understand and thrive in a face-paced media environment.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, AirTable, Excel, Google Workspace.

  • Proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and flexible in the face of shifting business needs due to the rapidly changing nature of marketing, retail, and ecommerce.

  • Excellent soft skills (influencing, persuasion, and communication) and proven relationship-building skills.

  • Strategic attitude, able to keep things moving while maintaining a vision of the bigger picture and define a path forward that delivers incremental value along the way.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in creative operations, production, outsourcing, and project management at an agency or studio.

  • Marketing/creative agency experience -- in-house, even better

  • Experience in the Marketing, Retail or eComm industry

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
  • Stock equity incentives
