The Sr Manager Casualty Process Leader provides strategic direction and leadership of all expense planning and analysis, process refinement and engineering, and establishment of best practices within the Casualty area of Claims Process. Additionally, this manager ensures our First Party Medical, Third Party Injury, and Litigation processes create competitive advantages and allow for profitable and effective scalability throughout the Claims organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops injury and litigation specific processes and workflows that meet the needs of the company, department, and branches.

  • Monitors national, regional and local performance against established metrics standards.

  • Manages all vendor relationships in their discipline and supports the evaluation efforts around new vendor onboarding and RFP exercises.

  • Partners with field management to prepare for and support catastrophic claims events and performs quality assurance activities.

  • Serves as a trusted partner and advisor to First and Third Party Injury Leadership.

  • Ensures adherence to all department of insurance regulations, setting process and procedure, actively seeking out compliance changes and weighing their impacts to existing and future processes.

  • Executes strategic short and long range objectives consistent with Esurance?s goals, guidelines and programs.

  • Manages assigned department budget and spending at or below plan.

  • Participates in the establishment of department goals and for implementing procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; manages, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the activities of department staff directly or through subordinate managers.

  • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs including automated estimate programs required.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in injury evaluation, negotiation and all stages of the settlement and litigation claim handling.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team remotely.

  • Able to visually communicate results of complex analyses to non-technical audiences Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor?s degree in a related field, and/or equivalent education required.

  • 10 years of injury claims and front line litigation and/or claims handling experience with five or more years of management experience.

  • Experience in multi-state claims jurisdictions.

  • Experience with injury claims knowledge of the litigation process as it relates to injury claims required.Physical Demands and Work Environment: Representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
