Job Role and Responsibility

The Senior Manager of Business Transformation is accountable for helping to drive the strategy & execution of VMware's WPCO business transformation. Responsibilities include managing the execution of the Transformation Center of Excellence within the WPCO organization, as well as driving efficient, integrated & informed business planning and transformation framework. Process design will include market-in intelligence, competitive analysis and industry POV/3rd party benchmarking. This role will report to the Director of Business Transformation and will help to drive the execution of a collaborative operating model between WPCO & key VMware functional businesses.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong communications skills, financial acumen and proven expertise in managing effective strategic processes in a highly matrixed environment. This is a highly cross functional role requiring close collaboration with corporate planning & intelligence, GEO sales leadership, VMware sales and sales ops teams, WPCO leaders & 3rd party resources (i.e. analysts, etc.). The role requires a track record of balancing strategic thinking, driving transformational change, and executional rigor delivering on current business priorities.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute VMware's WPCO transformation strategy with the functional business leaders, xRTM sales leaders and business units.

  • Accountable for market-in POV to inform planning & transformation strategies, including building an Insights "community", including interlocking with Franchise Platform leads/BUs to ensure awareness of trends opportunities, and GEO sales to drive awareness and a methodology to support self-service for Insights to be consumed across the business

  • Responsible for WPCO's integration into & participation in VMware's biannual corporate planning process.

  • Drive execution between WPCO and key functional partners through an interlocked operating model.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with WPCO SLT teams to ensure programs, investments, incentives, and acceleration initiatives align with and support the overall business transformation strategy.

  • Accountable for partnering with VMware Sales Operations, BTA & EDA to ensure alignment to OLT prioritization of key operational dependencies (i.e. automation).

  • Partner with GEO strategy planning & operations peers to create an operating model to accelerate "one-team" mindset for business planning.

  • Community: Build out & maintain a collaboration framework leveraging technologies & platforms to amplify business visibility, awareness of insights & POV, best practice sharing, etc.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years' experience in strategy & business planning, and driving transformational frameworks in highly matrixed environments

  • Towering strength in communications, both 1:1, and experience building & maintaining successful community models leveraging technology platforms for scale

  • Solid understanding of Partner ecosystems, software sales cycles and customer lifecycle models.

  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills with the ability to create and drive vision across organizations.

  • Proven experience in a global software organization with significant matrixed sales management responsibility.

  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills; proven ability to work with a diverse team and influence and drive change across functional and business boundaries in a fast paced environment.

  • Deep experience in creating & optimizing collaborative operating models with extended teams; can be a trusted advisor to sales leadership.

  • The ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment, be able to manage multiple stakeholders and groups simultaneously and have strong communications skills.

  • Possesses highest level of integrity, honesty and professionalism.

Preferred Skills

  • Software sales experience and a degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
