The pay range for this position In Western Washington varies between $125,510.00 - $181,000.00, and for Eastern Washington varies between $103,950.00 - $150,000.00. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Delta Dental of Washington and Arcora Foundation intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

  • Dynamic Partnership: You'll be a dynamic, strategic, and progressive partner, known for your clear communication and strong consultative style. Building relationships and fostering collaboration will be second nature to you.

  • Business understanding: Understanding the business environment and objectives is key. You'll need to grasp HR's role in helping employees and leaders achieve those goals while ensuring legal compliance.

  • Trusted Advisor and Mentor: As a trusted coach, consultant, and mentor, you'll use innovative and pragmatic approaches to problem-solving, guiding business leaders and fostering an inspiring and engaged culture.

  • Strategic Business Partnerships: You'll provide strategic business partnerships to WDS business units, focusing on various aspects like performance management, leadership development, and employee engagement.

  • Leadership and Collaboration: Playing a key leadership role, you'll reinforce a culture of growth, innovation, and risk-taking. Collaboration with HR, COE's, and matrixed organizations will be essential to your success.

  • Culture and Values Champion: You'll exemplify company values, foster a positive work environment, and assist senior leadership in communicating and directing the company's culture towards improved business results.

  • Team Development: Managing and developing at least one People Partner and/or Specialist, you'll nurture talent within the team and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Project Leadership: Designing and leading projects across Talent Acquisition, L&D, Compensation, and Benefits, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and best practices.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilizing data analysis, research, and benchmarking, you'll provide business insights to support decision-making and drive strategic planning.

  • Change Management and Issue Resolution: From investigating complex employee issues to implementing necessary changes to mitigate risks, you'll be instrumental in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive culture.

  • Flexibility and Openness: Demonstrating flexibility in roles and duties, you'll align with dynamic business needs while remaining open to hearing diverse voices and seeking to understand others.

Experience, skills, and education do you need to have to succeed in the position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

  • BA in Business, Human Resources or equivalent and 8+ years of Human Resource Business Partner experience including direct support of VPs

  • 4+ years experience serving as a trusted strategic consultant for senior and executive leadership

  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or other HR professional certification (SPHR, sHRBP) preferred.

  • Demonstrated competence in human resource areas including benefit and compensation practices, workforce planning and organization design, employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), performance management, leader development and coaching, compliance and federal and state employment laws.
