Job Description:

This position is responsible for driving US business performance via digital marketing analytics and strategy. This role will collaborate with internal marketing teams to understand key business needs, work with internal IT teams to define digital measurement needs and standards, and analyze digital data (with a focus on website data) to assess promotional effectiveness, support digital optimization efforts, and socialize data-driven recommendations to internal stakeholders. This role will also complete additional ad hoc analyses as needed by the business. This role supports both patient and healthcare professional digital promotional effectiveness, across all Biogen brands in the US.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging digital data (primarily website), to deliver rapid, actionable and comprehensive insights designed to enable strategy and marketing decisions. This work involves personally initiating and conducting analyses and also directing vendors performing analyses

  • Collaborating with marketing product managers, promotional effectiveness team members, and agency partners to understand key business questions and marketing objectives; translating questions and objectives into actionable analyses

  • Delivering monthly and quarterly digital marketing insights deliverables, performance updates, and ad hoc analyses as required by US Marketing

  • Partner with Marketing IT, Multi-Channel Marketing Operations, and external vendors/agencies to define digital/website measurement strategy and ensure the necessary data will be available at the right level to enable evaluation and optimization of digital marketing programs

  • Support the development and socialization of appropriate metrics and targets to measure and optimize campaign/marketing effectiveness

  • Support socialization of analytics capability and roadmap with Marketing, Marketing Operations and external agencies

The ideal candidate will have a track record for:

  • High Analytical Horsepower / Skillset high comfort sourcing, manipulating, analyzing using basic tools (Excel) and visualizing data via standard tools/charting methods; experience incorporating a variety of information sources into analysis; ability to effectively present and defend analyses

  • Core Strategic Thinking ability to absorb and logically structure information into analytical deliverables with established / known frameworks and tools

  • Strong Project / Deliverable Management ability to deliver moderately complex analytical investigations and cross-functional projects with limited guidance

  • High Customer-Orientation internal customers as a service partner to brand and other functions

  • Strong Communications both efficient and succinct in verbal and written communications; excellent data visualization skills; able to distill complex analyses into meaningful insights and conclusions for executive audiences

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Project Management able to collaborate with various functional partners to source data; design metrics, analyses and visualizations; probe/ask questions, gather required information for analysis

  • Deals Well with Ambiguity / Intensity operates well in a fast-paced environment driven by senior leadership requests and evolving needs

  • Independent able to manage workload with limited guidance and support in prioritization; effective managing to expectations and ability to scope/prioritize work with relatively high independence

The candidate should also strive towards the following capabilities:

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • At least five years of experience working in a digital marketing analytics function

  • Consulting, analytics, or digital agency background strongly preferred

  • Biotech/pharma experience preferred, but not required

  • Depth of experience with website analytics and digital media measurement strategy, particularly with the Adobe Marketing Suite, is required. Must be able to define detailed business requirements for website measurement and support implementation of media tags on owned properties

  • Knowledge of and proficiency with digital marketing channels outside of website (e.g. social, search, paid media) strongly preferred

  • Driven, highly self-motivated, confident, high-energy, and bright individual with high intellectual curiosity

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skill set

  • Strong computer aptitude and an ability to learn systems quickly

  • Excellent strategic thinking capabilities with ability to derive insight and recommendations from data

  • Familiarity with advanced analytic and data manipulation techniques and tools (e.g. SAS, SQL) preferred

  • In addition to a strong record of analytic and quantitative work, successful candidates will also have broadly applicable consulting skills such as: strong oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences; ability to synthesize information into a logically structured PowerPoint deliverable; close attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset; aptitude for, and enjoyment of, working in teams
