The Sr. HR Business Partner is a critical team member to the success of the HR function at Whirlpool! You will work closely with the Global HR Strategy & Planning leader, as well as the global HR leadership team and extended HR function. You will be creative & define sustainable solutions that meet the needs of our HR team members around the world, while ensuring alignment with the enterprise business strategy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve process and cadence for three year & annual HR strategic planning, partnering with people leader and the Global HR Leadership Team, while ensuring alignment to global Whirlpool business and profit planning processes. Partner with Project Manager to ensure processes are documented and major projects are incorporated into the planning process.

  • Design, implement, and manage process for HR headcount and wagebase planning. Build talent planning processes for the HR function, including build, buy, develop, move strategies to ensure bench strength and talent pipeline at all levels of the function, and parts of HR model.

  • Build plan to build capability in Business HR, COEs and HR Operations. Identify critical capability requirements, approach to develop talent, career management tools, and plan for sustained capability building. Own the HR talent committee meeting strategy and actions.

  • Serve as the HR business partner for the HR function. Be a voice for the function by staying closely connected to the field globally. Be a trusted advisor to HR leaders on HR matters.

  • Understand and champion the global Human Resources delivery model from end-to-end and advocate where current and new work belongs in the model.

  • Build the capability of HR and business partners to: identify business requirements; assess strategic value, prioritize, and implement significant changes to the HR delivery model. This includes conducting effective change management for internal and external HR customers and demonstrating the return-on-investment to the business of each change.

  • Partner closely with HR Communications to ensure high quality products and services, which drives attraction, retention, and engagement of top HR talent. This includes but is not limited to owning content for the Global HR Town Halls.

  • Be the talent liaison from Talent COE to HR function, as well as to the HR Business Partners who support the Global Corporate Functions (legal, GIS, Finance, etc.), ensuring annual talent processes are done on time with high quality. Own the preparation and analysis of the HR PE Ops scorecard on a monthly basis, making recommendations for action. Own the preparation of the HR talent reviews and PE Operations review materials.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's Degree required, Bachelor's in HR or Business preferred, Master's in HR preferred

  • Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a HR business partner role

  • Technical/Product Knowledge:
    SuccessFactors preferred

  • Other Requirements (certifications, licenses, etc): PHR

Highly desired prior experiences:

  • Preparing written communications for executives

  • Preparing presentations for executives

  • Presenting business cases/analysis/slide presentations to executives with a clear, concise communication style

  • Managerial courage - will push back, comfortable giving positive and constructive feedback, and making recommendations for change

  • Worked in a manufacturing environment, or various parts of an HR model, with generalist experience; preferred prior experience in a corporate environment

  • Prior experience working in a highly matrixed organization

  • Leading through influence vs. direct authority

  • Exercising political savvy

This team is a cross functional combination of off shore, on shore, contracted and internal personel that work on agile software delivery as well as specific one time projects for the IoT Business Unit. You will be required to manage the performance of team members, keep leadership informed on critical work, manage a budget and work with sales and marketing team members to create and deliver a Mobile Application strategy and road map. You will also help to manage assigned PMs managing key large scale projects. You will establish and maintain good working relathipships with other teams such as the cloud platform team and the appliance firmware team to ensure a superior end to end customer experiance. It may involve traveling to regions such as Europe, Asia and Latin America including North America. In summary, your role in Global Information Systems organization is to be a trusted partner, subject matter expert and a people leader for the Internet of Things Mobile Application Team, and translate that into technology roadmaps, projects, operational, and continuous improvement solutions in partnership with development and architecture teams, technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and internal or external vendors. Key Activities and Responsibilities: * Provide effective leadership to multi-disciplined teams and take action when performance deviates from agreed tolerances * Be the servant leader of the mobile app development team and remove the roadblocks * Work closely with the cross functional team to ensure quality is built into the features that are delivered, on time and based on product objectives * Promote a culture of continuous improvement and help team to increase productivity while fostering innovation * Identify and translate high level business goals into objectives for a team of Mobile Architects and Developers * Direct and impliment best practices / best in class programming and incorporate the learnings * Ensure proper System Requirement and Design documents for strategic system capabilities are maintained * Deliver with the team a modular, testable, scalable and measurable system capability solution * Participate in the end to end connected appliances strategy development * Develope the long term Mobile Application strategy * Support Global Information System's long range financial planning and annual strategic planning processes * Actively monitor and deliver insights on the Mobility landscape, environmental factors, emerging trends, innovations, best practice and competitor activity, applying this knowledge to improve existing services Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree * 10+ years of work experience in Information Systems or Engineering * 5+ years of work experience in designing and architecting Mobile apps for iOS or Android or both operating systems * 3+ years of work experience in managing Mobile App development team Other Competencies/Education and Abilities: * Familiar with Native Applications on iOS and Android and good understanding of Hybrid frameworks such as Kony, PhoneGap, React Native, Xamarin, etc. * Experience managing products that include Web Service Integration, REST APIs, WebSockets and broker interface * Experience in any MBaaS (Mobile Backend as a Service) platform such as Google Firebase, AWS for mobile, Parse, Azure MBaaS, etc. * Good working knowledge of mobile security standards and mobile app analytics toolkits/frameworks * Experience managing the delivery of artifacts/frameworks and reference architecture for mobility solutions * Hands on experience in requirements gathering and thereby creating a system requirement and design specification for one or many features and capabilities * Experience with Agile methodology and Software Development Life Cycle for project / product development * Excellent analytical and problem solving ability * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Experience of engaging with multiple stakeholders for eliciting requirements and crafting a solution architecture for mobile solution * Well conversant with emerging digital technologies and their integration with mobile solutions * Ability to lead a team of mobile app developers and build innovative IP solutions that showcase thought-leadership and creativity * Passionate about learning new technologies and creating innovative solutions * Self-directed and able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently as well as a team * Understand the fundamentals of vendor contracts, negotiations, proposals, and ongoing governance of outsourced relationships * Good understanding of Change Management Process * Sound domain knowledge of the Manufacturing industry Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) is the world's leading major home appliance company, with approximately $21 billion in annual sales, 92,000 employees and 70 manufacturing and technology research centers in 2017.
