BASIC PURPOSE: Develop the future vision and strategic roadmap for the Brand Protection function of NCLH.
Provide managerial oversight to ensure the global integrity of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is met in the areas of Brand Protection:
Food Safety, Food Quality, Brand Standards and Supplier Codes of Practice. Ensuring the on-going compliance with regulatory and audit-based requirements.
Implement and measure strategic programs for quality assurance and food safety that ensure the business achieves, sustains and continuously improves world-class programs for food quality and food safety.
Develop and implement Brand Protection processes and policies to ensure food products meet standards set by NCLH and regulatory authorities.
Oversee manufacturing and production processes for category and product specification compliance.
Conduct quality product evaluations to ensure all food ingredients meet NCLH standards of excellence against specification requirements.
Outline specific performance metrics and benchmarking activities to drive improvement.
Develop and maintain accurate product specifications, which include critical to quality attributes.
Provide support to internal and external partners as the subject-matter-expert in Brand Protection.
Collaborate with cross functional departments to ensure food safety, cleanliness and brand standards are in place that meet or exceed regulatory rules and regulations.
Successful on-boarding of new suppliers and roll-out of products.
Ensure supplier/distributor partners are utilizing HACCP, FDA, USDA and USPH guidelines.
Implement/manage third party audit program for suppliers/distributors.
Provide technical support to F&B, Culinary Ops and Operations.
Initiate product withdrawals and recalls with distribution, operations and suppliers.
Monitor industry trends and communicates to team concerns that may affect quality or supply of products or commodities.
Monitor Federal, State regulatory food safety issues; communicates modifications and changes to the field.
Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members to achieve department goals.
Participate in product/menu development activities to improve overall product quality, services and costs.
Assist Buyers and Manager with special projects.
Perform other job related functions as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in science, biology, or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years' experience in Brand Protection:
Food Safety/HACCP/Quality Assurance. Certified Professional of Food Safety (CP-FS) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word and Power Point to create reports, presentations and correspondence with emphasis on Excel in relation to general analytical work and financial analysis.
Conduct presentations/workshops as requested to various levels of the organization. Public speaking/presentation experience required. Good organizational skills are required in order to handle multiple tasks and can maintain positive attitude under intense pressure.
Ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of international, federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the production and food safety of NCLH products. Ability to maintain ethical and professional relations with suppliers, team members and any other party that conducts business with the organization.
