The primary objective of this position is to create advanced analytics to help enhance the strategy and tactics of the marketing and sales organization. This position is responsible for transforming data into meaningful, action oriented business insight towards optimizing resource utilization and revenue. Business knowledge and analytical expertise will be utilized to continuously assess and improve the company's approach in brand strategy, sales force strategy, targeting, and other projects to ensure sales and marketing is performing optimally. Focus is on utilizing advanced mathematical tools (e.g. SAS) and concepts to identify and apply solutions to business opportunities, while communicating complex concepts to business partners.
Develop and oversee cross functional projects:
Develop Analytics projects that have significant impact on ComOps ability and are driven by key business questions to make timely decisions. Projects will include interaction with a wide range of audiences (Senior Management, Marketing, Field Management & External Customers)
In addition to analytical projects, position will also manage projects related to sales force/marketing resource optimization, information governance and external analytics.
Support the Head of Analytics on major cross-functional projects through duties such as coordination of committees, vendor management, and determination of analytical methodology. All projects will ensure that the company objectives are achieved.
Propose and develop strategic analysis:
Utilize advanced analytic thinking and understanding of operations to enhance the strategy and tactics for the marketing and sales organizations.
Transform data into meaningful, action oriented business insights that improve resource utilization and increase revenue.
Develop strategic analyses using multiple advanced mathematical tools, (e.g. SAS, R, Python), and statistical analysis concepts to address marketing and sales issues and opportunities
Identify new opportunities to utilize data and analytic concepts and propose new solutions
Ensure accuracy of analysis by developing and adhering to QC/validation procedures to achieve the highest level of accuracy and quality standards. Contribute to team validation efforts.
Work closely with key customers to assess business needs:
Partner with External customers, SP BOS, and Digital reporting teams to ensure dashboards, strategic reports/analysis, and ad hoc information is delivered efficiently to support business needs. Contribute to team validation efforts as needed.
Drive a structured approach to identifying key business questions and achieve consensus. This includes discussions on products, competitors, new product pipelines, public polices, etc. to become a true business partner.
Participate in customers' team meetings (e.g. project prioritization, analytics reviews) in order to gain a deep understanding of the business.
Identify industry best practices:
Continue to strengthen ability with existing analytical tools and identify potential to use new tools and industry standards.
Evaluate new data sets (public and private) to determine robustness and value.
A Master's Degree is required in one of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research
1 - 4 year experience performing predictive Modeling, Statistical Business Analysis or Regression Analysis with one of the following Programming Languages for Data Science: SAS Base Programming, Python, R, Julia, or equivalent
Experience leading cross functional projects a plus
Experience in working with imperfect data sets.
Advanced Analytic Techniques- In-depth knowledge
Software Skills Desired:
Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Visio)
Experience using query languages such as SQL
SAS-Enterprise Miner or comparable
MicroStrategy, Tableau, or equivalent BI tool
R, Python, SAS Base Programming, or equivalent software
Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Conceptual understanding of analytical techniques such as regression, decision trees, and neural networks.
Excellent management of customer expectations, listening, negotiating, and multi-tasking skills.
