The Senior Manager, Customer Development/Shopper Marketing is a hybrid role that is both the key daily interface responsible for the customer relationship with Amazon for the J&J Oral Care category featuring the Listerine brand but also will be the Shopper/Customer Marketing conduit between the greater Amazon Customer Development team and the J&J Consumer enterprise across all commercial squads. The incumbent has direct selling responsibility and is accountable for achieving shipment goals and consumption sales objectives by managing the Listerine product group at a customer team. The incumbent develops and executes customer-specific business plans that support and are aligned to customer and marketing strategies. The incumbent monitors key metrics to track progress and adjusts the plan as needed to deliver results. The incumbent manages a trade promotional budget for optimal ROI. The incumbent ensures internal/external alignment, while growing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. The incumbent participates in special projects as assigned by the supervisor (Director of Customer Development

  • Amazon). As the Customer/Shopper Marketing lead for the Amazon team this resource will also have responsibility for designing, influencing and/or optimizing key processes and capabilities with key functional support areas such as Digital Experience (DX), Customer Experience (CXO), Brand Marketing, Customer Strategy, Supply Chain and Franchise management to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of demand driving activities inclusive of media, merchandising and commercial assortment projects to J&J Consumer equities on the Amazon marketplace.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Shaping the go-forward processes and capabilities to optimize demand and traffic through the comprehensive suite of media vehicles and tools to Amazon in synchronous manner across CD team, brand marketing, DX/CXO and customer strategy across the enterprise

  • Deliver industry leading profitable growth for Amazon Oral care business representing >$30MM annually with continued 15+% YOY GTS/POS growth and share gains online within the category portfolio

  • Be a fierce negotiator that drive profitable growth for both J&J and Amazon

  • Leads, shapes, and executes .com 1P business plans to deliver sales results, including maximized volume potential, increased merchandising effectiveness, growth and brand share, meanwhile partners closely to help shape Amazon 3P business plans for a wholistic Amazon marketplace strategy

  • Responsible for leading strong collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders and eCommerce team members, balancing needs of the brand with demands of the customer to deliver win-win scenarios, leaning on experts across stakeholder groups, and instilling followership in efforts to win with a highly dynamic/evolving customer

  • Shaping the go-forward processes and capabilities to enable customer marketing success on Amazon including but not limited to unique assortment/pack development, promotional strategy and merchandising programs with customer strategy, RGM, franchise/project management and supply chain

  • Be a subject matter expert is all demand drivers of the Amazon Oral Care 1P business including, but not limited to SEM/SEO, price, promo, packaging/assortment levers

  • Specifically, develop and maintain the on-line channel portfolio of J&J items while balancing customer and J&J item profitability metrics

  • Raise the 'on-line IQ' across J&J Consumer via business insights and analytics. Specifically, collect and report J&J on-line data across all brands powering the path to purchase utilizing all ecommerce KPIs and other metrics available via the customer portal (Vendor Central

  • Amazon's portal)
  • Responsible for accurate forecasting of monthly sales by franchise and/or brands.

  • Leads annual business planning process within the Self Care and Tena businesses. Leverages business analytics to influence customer and company decision making at top-to-top levels.

  • Utilizes internal/customer business systems to manage and maximize plans (i.e. LYNX, ISIS & Vendor Central

  • Amazon's Portal). Regularly reconciles deductions/payments and updates promotional plans to remain within budget
  • Creates impactful, insights-based presentations in order to translate sales objectives into customer strategy and business plans around distribution, merchandising, promotion, and online placement

  • Serves as "voice of customer" to the company in order to address customer needs and accomplish goals and objectives, including launch of new items and optimal 4P execution

  • Influences across the organization to ensure full alignment to the customer/company business plan and drive long-term business objectives

  • Manages trade spend to stay within budget and to maximize ROI

  • Creates, establishes, and/or manages customer-specific scorecards to monitor sales progress and identify and close sales gaps

  • Serves in the role of expert on J&J US Self Care and Tena (Adult Incontinence) business and designs innovative programs that generate a win-win outcome

  • Provides input into the development of direct report team members

  • Complies with company policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in Business, Marketing or related field

  • 5-7 years prior experience in a consumer products company preferred, with 5 or more of these years in direct customer sales, marketing and/or digital experience required

  • eCommerce channel experience highly preferred

  • Cross functional experience is a plus

  • Ability to prioritize and to manage multiple priorities successfully

  • Ability to influence using collaborative approaches to drive rapid change at large scale

  • Ability to work in a complex, matrix environment where priorities change rapidly, and tight deadlines exist

  • Ability to successfully negotiate internally and externally to align competing needs at high levels across dotted line relationships

  • Ability to instill followership through strong collaboration

  • Proven ability to negotiate successfully and to resolve challenge and conflict arising out of everyday business situations and competing needs across dotted line reporting relationships

  • Responsible for shaping and delivering new go to market and investment models to step change growth opportunities with J&J Consumer Omni Channel

  • Serve as a change agent within the eCommerce channel, at the customer, and internal J&J franchises driving and instituting strategies that enhance collaborative efforts of J&J companies and devising innovative strategies/solutions that result in increased sales, profit and/or business productivity

  • Strong computer skills, including web applications, MS Office and sales database applications per computer proficiency standards

  • This role will be located in Skillman, NJ or Fort Washington, PA and require up to 20% travel

Vogue is looking for a creative, results-oriented Digital Shopper Marketing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has strong expertise developing strategies that are successful across the full path to purchase-inclusive of digital engagement (fully integrated omnichannel planning & execution). In this newly created role, the Sr Shopper Marketing manager's primary responsibility is to develop and deliver a portfolio-wide, account-specific shopper marketing plan for the Vogue's top NA Omnichannel retail accounts (Walmart, Target, Shoppers Drug Mart). The portfolio planning process includes identifying innovative ways to launch new items, grow our core, and leverage the scale of the portfolio by identifying shopper-based solutions that deliver joint value for the Retailer and Vogue. This role will work as part of the Connected Commerce team to deliver goals as it relates to profitability, sales and equity with our company and customers. The incumbent will work closely with the customer development and customer strategy teams to identify new business opportunities, develop plans to innovate existing platforms, and deliver best-in-class launch strategies. This role's primary contact at the customer is Retailer shopper engagement teams (marketing, media, loyalty/personalization) with the requirement of successfully collaborating cross-functionally, inclusive of the merchant teams at all levels in the organization. This experience will develop and showcase the ability to strategically evaluate opportunities, develop deep shopper and consumer empathy to identify and address key opportunities, and bring them to market to grow the business. This role will hone skills in building strong team dynamics, dealing with ambiguity, influencing a range of levels throughout the organization, and driving for results.
