As Senior Manager of AS Offer Development and Client Experience, you will have the opportunity effect meaningful change for Advisor Services clients, modernize the way we do business, and develop and execute innovative offers that differentiate Schwab in the marketplace. The person in this role will build relationships with constituents throughout the business, exercise creative problem solving, and successfully drive initiatives from the ideation stage to completion in a matrixed environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment of ambiguity and possess a strong desire and ability to work independently.

What you're good at

  • Plan and execute work streams for large, complex projects, as well as take full ownership of smaller projects

  • Gather, analyze and synthesize large quantities of information to generate meaningful insights

  • Identify initiatives, provide recommendations and execute programs to meet strategic objectives

  • Generate great questions that lead to deep insights and actionable next steps

  • Leverage strong PowerPoint and Excel skills to develop and deliver high-impact presentations

  • Develop strong relationships both within AS and across the firm; establish rapport with business partners, identify "shared goals," and accelerate progress on various initiatives through effective collaboration

  • Communicate progress on high-profile initiatives to AS leadership and business partners, both verbally and in writing

  • Develop offers that meet and exceed clients' unique needs, as well as differentiate Schwab in the marketplace

  • Influence and build consensus with partners at all levels

What you have

  • 4-6 years of work experience in financial services, strategy, project management, or business process transformation; experience working with independent investment advisors preferred but not required

  • Bachelors degree or related work experience

  • MBA or PMP preferred

  • Ability to work independently in an environment of ambiguity

  • A client-centric focus keeps clients in forefront of decisions, connects plans and actions to our purpose of serving clients

  • Superior analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders, and "tap" into institutional knowledge to get things done more quickly and effectively

  • High degree of initiative (you're a self-starter who sees opportunities rather than obstacles)

  • A track record of executing complex projects, a strong desire to make things happen, and outstanding organizational skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop effective PowerPoint presentations for a diverse set of audiences

  • Strong Excel/data analytic skills; ability to analyze large data sets to identify key themes and insights (and willingness to learn Excel functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, if not already familiar)

  • A client-centric focus and ability to see "through clients' eyes"

  • Intellectual curiosity and integrity (you assess opportunities in a "balanced" way and are not afraid to "go against the grain")

  • Sense of humor, team ethic, and positive attitude (especially when things don't go as planned)

What you're good at Operational Services frequently receives legal documents that require review and analysis. The Estates Risk Analyst is responsible for reviewing documents and internal procedures related to decedent's estates, trusts, divorces, durable powers of attorney, and matters relating to retirement accounts. The Risk Analyst communicates risks, concerns, and opinions in order to recommend appropriate actions to business partners. * Review legal documents for decedent's estates, including letters of appointment, trusts, and court orders. * Effectively engage with clients or their agents to de-escalate and resolve complex, high-risk matters. * Take ownership over complex cases, and work with the clients and interested parties to address concerns, and work to resolve matters in a way that mitigates risks to the firm. * Collaborate with business leaders to refine department procedures to control operational risk. * Communicate with internal departments and provide support and expertise regarding complicated issues related to decedent's estates, trusts, court orders, and retirement accounts. * Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Schwab's Corporate Legal Group and various other client escalation departments. * Review new account documents for procedural acceptability. * Provide guidance to Estates leaders and professionals for retail client escalations. * Manage time effectively to provide efficient and timely responses in a fast-paced business environment * Coordinate with Operational Services leadership teams to identify trends and attend team meetings for training purposes. What you have * Series 7, 63, 9 and 10 licenses preferred. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. * Knowledge of estates topics, planning, or relevant legal experience or certification (paralegal certificate, higher legal education, or JD) is highly preferred but not required. * Experience reviewing legal documents including letters of appointment, trusts, power of attorney documents, and court orders. * Communicates effectively orally and in writing. * Demonstrated business judgment - ability to identify and assess risk. * Experience in the securities, brokerage, or financial services industry strongly preferred. * Maintain any licenses or certifications by completing continuing education requirements.
