Mission of the Role: The mission of this Sr Manager role focuses on enabling best supplier identification and engagement for upcoming customer and Visteon product requirements. The category of focus is the rapidly growing Displays and Optical area, consisting of display modules, cover lenses, and other associated components. The Sr Manager will guide the Displays and Optics procurement strategy by integrating feedback from the category procurement team and internal stakeholders such as the Displays Product Line teams to create a unified approach to strategic category requirements. This role is crucial for selecting and managing suppliers to meet specific technology and pricing goals, ensuring a balance of competition and innovation among them. The Sr Manager is responsible for supplier quote engagement, developing targets considering should cost, leading price negotiations, and making strategic contributions to the company's market position. Additionally, they provide vital insights to the sourcing board for informed supplier selection, playing a key role in enhancing the procurement structure to align with the organization's overarching strategic objectives.

Key Objectives of this Role:

  • Receives inputs from category team members and other stakeholders to form technology (sub-category) strategy.

  • Drives right suppliers for target technology, price, and supply capacity.

  • Pursuit price negotiations, foster positive tension and competition between suppliers.

  • Supports sourcing board for proposed supplier solution.

  • Work with Product Line teams to understand technical solution, ensuring supplier quotations meet customer/engineering requirements.

  • Understand Display technologies, market and Should Cost.

  • Challenge the supply base in terms of pricing and competition.

  • Challenge the program teams in terms of specification requirements and timing.

  • Engage with finance and sales in creating overall commercial transparency for business case analysis.

  • Establish first contacts with new suppliers including NDA alignment with legal department.

  • Contribute to YoY expectations in alignment with annual target expectations.

  • Strong alignment with Engineering, Sales and Operations.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Supplier solutions supporting successful Visteon pursuits/NBW.

  • Contribute to annual corporate savings target by reaching defined Supplier PPV targets.

  • Strong performance on non-saving objectives, like supplier claim recovery and payment days.

  • Support best-in-class cost & quality through platform strategy, design-to-cost, structured negotiations.

  • Facilitate supplier issue resolution.

  • Develop SEP for new supplier engagement supporting both current and new product portfolio.

Key Year One Deliverables:

  • Learn Visteon, Suppliers, and technology.

  • Understand and document product platform architectures.

  • Summarize commodity market outlook.

  • Develop relationships with global stakeholders and key suppliers.

  • Take lead on global pursuit negotiations, grow experience and respect.

  • Report-out and present to Senior Management.

  • Provide leadership to procurement team in the commodity.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

  • 10 years of commercial working experience, cost-engineering/procurement, sales in a cross functional team organization.

  • Experience with Display and/or Optical Product area, with existing market knowledge and relationships.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, demonstrating adeptness in fostering collaboration, providing clear direction.

  • Overall experience in procurement procedures and activities.

  • Proven track of negotiations (supplier/customer).

  • Supplier audit performance knowledge including value stream analysis is desirable.

  • High level of commercial acumen combined with a precise and careful way of working

  • Passion for technology and investigation of undiscovered potential in design or supplier base.

  • Capability to stay focused and composed in a fast paced business environment.

  • Strong communicator who is fluent in English (writing and speaking).
