Job Description
This position will focus on controllership responsibilities across the Company. We are looking for someone that will be a critical team member in the overall success of the finance and accounting team. The qualified candidate will interact with finance/accounting and cross-functional teams across the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accounting records that are accurate, complete, timely and in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies
Responsible for the monthly closing process, which includes the timely completion and review of monthly account reconciliations for all key areas / accounts, journal entries, and monthly fluctuation analysis and report on variances versus budget and prior periods
Provide key financial information and support
Lead and support accounting for assigned balance sheet accounts
Liaise cross-functionally around various accounting areas
Support external reporting function by preparing footnote disclosures
Assist in providing requested information to internal auditors
Guide management allocations across entities
Assist with meeting external financial statement requirements
Drive process improvement initiatives to create efficiencies and reduce timeframes for deliverables in the financial close and reporting processes
Coordinate with external auditors as a key contact for audit requests and other third-party service providers
Ensure all work complies with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Streamline and improve existing processes and controls
Track key accounting and reporting issues for consideration
Provide coaching and guidance to staff
Stay abreast of best practices in the application of accounting guidelines
Partner with other teams/departments on special projects and ad hoc requests
Key Competencies Required
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Big 4 accounting firm and/or public company experience
8-10+ years of related work experience
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP requirements
Experience with internal controls compliance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Healthcare experience is a plus
Workday experience is a plus

For Colorado Residents only: This is an exempt position. The base compensation range for this role is $100,000 to $136,000. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan.
