Act as SME in Environment Social Governance (ESG) initiatives Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) by providing guidance to Customers on accounting policies; writing and researching accounting policies; determining implementation plans for projects in accordance with policy; and partnering with other stakeholders to implement accounting systems. Drives implementation of major accounting changes by building a support case for change; analyzing impact of change; partnering with corporate controller's office in reviewing technical accounting issues and potential changes to accounting methodologies; and assisting in communicating changes to broader organization. Serves as accounting expert for Finance related to highly technical ESG accounting areas by designing analysis specifications; supervising performance of requested accounting functions and development of accounting methodologies. Serves as liaison between ESG team, internal auditors, SMEs, and Finance by providing requested analyses and other ad hoc requests. Aids in preparation of training tool-kit, leads training session with ESG SMEs, and partners with SME to identify process gaps.
