Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key client contact by identification of, planning, coordinating, and executing cross-functional risk management projects Proven ability to drive and support a book of business that provides excellent, relevant services to the market Proven ability to recruit, train, and develop professionals Responsible for all phases of the engagement, including execution of the project deliverables, communications with the project team, staffing requirements, job planning, and scheduling Manages relationship with client-side project members to facilitate project fulfillment Exercises independent thinking skills by making decisions related to engagements to include dynamic problem solving, risk assessment, quality control, and data and information evaluation Identification of significant emerging issues that impact our client base Responsible for leading multiple project teams Responsible for the performance and promotion of staff Serves as a key member in practice leadership

Highly Proficient verbal and written English communication skills; ability to communicate effectively Professional demeanor towards duties and responsibilities, particularly with regard to independence, professional ethics, and the exercise of professional judgment Must be reliable and able to meet deadlines Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Business, Accounting, or related field required, Master's Degree preferred 10+ years of public accounting or related consulting experience required8+ years of professional level project management experience required

Global financial accounting experience is preferred

Retail or insurance industry experience is preferredSEC reporting experience required; internal audit/control experience preferredCPA certification required Thorough working knowledge of MS Office required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook Knowledge of Database Software Systems preferred (i.e. Microsoft Access)Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures on manual and automated systems required

Responsibilities * Contribute to the development of an accounting advisory market offering. As part of this effort, help identify top talent, establish strong relationships with target clients, and develop practice management processes. • Provide accounting advisory support to large multi-national clients, including assisting them with understanding and implementing new or complex accounting standards such as financial instruments accounting (e.g., credit impairment), consolidation, acquisition accounting, fair value measurement, derivatives and hedging, revenue recognition, and leasing. • Provide transaction-related accounting and reporting support for capital markets transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, IPOs, and other complex capital raising transactions. • Identify and foster long-term relationships with new and existing target clients. • Help develop firm thought-ware on technical accounting and financial reporting matters. • Demonstrated ability to develop lasting relationships with business clients. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. #LI-BN Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an appropriate field required * 3+ years of experience with a public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience required• Licensed CPA preferred• Strong current knowledge in one or more of the following areas: US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting preferred * Experience in financial services industry or insurance industry preferred Dixon Hughes Goodman Richmond VA
