Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs all conveyor, sortation and related material handling equipment; provides basic heating HVAC, plumbing and/or other facility maintenance functions to ensure proper, safe and efficient mechanical/electrical operations within the Distribution Center. Maintains and modifies existing equipment/systems; and provides some design, fabrication and installation of specialized equipment as necessary.


  • 4-6 yrs. hands on experience in industrial maintenance field with demonstrated preventative maintenance experience in material handling systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Electrical, Welding, HVAC, Plumbing, Electronics, Hydraulics, Mechanical and/or Electrical drive systems experience highly desired but not required.

  • Maintain, and repair, building and material handling equipment electrical systems including but not limited to 230/460 volt three phase systems.

  • Full time status. Willingness to work various shifts and/or overtime to meet business needs.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, sit and walk. Position requires lifting of up to 75 lbs., reaching with hands and arms, and manipulation of parts and the use of various tools and equipment.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to high places. Frequent exposures to lubricants, chemical vapors, and aerosols. Position requires tolerance for working in adverse conditions including: weather, heat, dust, noise, etc. Position requires 20/40 vision and depth perception

  • Associates must successfully complete pre-certification and internal licensing requirements for all Powered Industrial Trucks including maintenance boom trucks and scissors lifts. Valid US Driver's License required.

Mechanics remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. The Mechanic determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Additionally, Mechanics will need to document any maintenance that may take place. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnose problems and make repairs on all machinery. Properly and accurately, complete all required records keeping, ordering and other necessary paperwork. Proper use and adherence to Lockout\Tagout Procedures. Must follow precise instructions and directions. Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams. Perform tool conversions on machinery. Practice good housekeeping Perform other duties as assigned Obey all safety rules, regulations, and policies Required Skills * High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. * Vocational school in related subjects desired; demonstrated mechanical ability; six months or more related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms. * Good handgrip strength is required. * Good hand-eye coordination is essential. * Frequently required to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. * Work near moving mechanical part, and occasionally in outside weather conditions. * Ability to work in high room temperatures and humidity. * Exposed fumes and/or airborne particles from fluids, oils, paint and Isopropyl Alcohol. * Exposed to machine parts operating at extremely high temperatures.
