Our Milford, NH client is a leading manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality precision components for various industries and is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Machinist to join their dynamic team.
Play a crucial role in the production process by operating and maintaining precision machining equipment to fabricate parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining principles, be proficient in reading technical drawings and possess the ability to produce high-quality work within specified tolerances.This is a direct hire role and is open to US Citizens or permanent residents. We regret that C2C is not an option.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machining equipment such as lathes & milling machines.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions to determine machining operations and requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and materials for each job.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Inspect finished parts to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot issues with machining equipment and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to use overhead crane to position parts to be machined.
- Understanding indicators to prevent distortion of parts due to over-clamping.
- Ability to work with very large, stainless steel parts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in machining is preferred
- Proven experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment
- Strong understanding of machining principles, including cutting speeds, feeds, and tool selection
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to machining operations
- Physically able to set these machines with finesse.
