Responsibilities

We are currently searching for a Senior Loss Control Representative who is interested in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a remote position preferably the candidate will reside on the East coast. The position will include travel.

  • Candidate needs to understand principles of loss prevention for all lines of business with a special emphasis on Large Property exposures (>$20M TIV) for occupancies such as offices, apartment complexes and light manufacturing.

  • They will be responsible for in-house consultation, sprinkler plan evaluations/analysis, and on-site surveys

  • Will work closely with all disciplines to evaluate risk selection and drive strategies

  • Candidate will be a valuable resource for internal and external customers providing training and analysis as required

  • Assist with team referrals requiring intermediate to advanced fire protection competencies

  • Participate in LC, IBU (Intermediate Business Unit), LBU (Large Business Unit) and Package team meetings as required

  • Work-from-home virtual position that will require travel up to 50% throughout the US

  • Candidate will be required to conduct onsite and virtual surveys

  • Position can be filled at a level higher or lower than this posted position based on education, skills and experience of the candidate

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree with major in Safety & Health, Fire Science or Engineering preferred

  • Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as CSP, CFPS, and/or ARM is highly desirable

  • Preferred candidate will have at least 3-5 years of Loss Control large property/HPR expertise within the P&C insurance industry

  • Must be able to review and analyze sprinkler plans, sprinkler inspection reports and fire pump test results to determine sprinkler adequacy

  • Candidate needs to be comfortable with understanding risk for properties of significant size (>$20M)

  • Must be able to conduct virtual surveys as needed as well as be able to physically travel by land and air as needed

  • Candidate's initial territory would be East of the Mississippi River with travel to other states throughout the country as needed

We are seeking candidates who possess 10+ years of experience with a major insurance carrier and/or national broker in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control, excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards. Those with these skills as well as knowledge or experience in commercial insurance, inspections, or fire and safety assessments are encouraged to apply. You will be responsible to schedule on-site surveys and provide risk evaluation and risk improvement reports to insurance industry clients. These reports contain information necessary to underwrite a commercial insurance policy, and may include recommendations to control and/or correct potential loss producing conditions associated with that policy. You will be expected to manage assignments you accept, successfully secure customer appointments within a local territory and complete work assignments on time. You may work on special projects or conduct more challenging risk evaluation surveys or risk improvement service requests that utilize your education, professional certifications and overall risk control skills level. Insured businesses range from Middle Market to Large Multi-location commercial size. Consultants will work from their home or office, and travel to local commercial business operations (i.e.) retail businesses, restaurants, hotels, apartment buildings and complexes, construction operations and jobsites, various types of manufacturers, churches, schools, etc. You will assess the risk for various commercial insurance lines of business that can include Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine and Builders Risk.
