US Bank's Integrated Card System is looking for a senior level team member that can create the blueprint (model) for a given database need. This candidate builds an application product understanding of the database function. Integrates efforts with the applications process flow diagrams and data flow diagrams created by the engineers and business lines. The individual will create and maintain conceptual and logical data models. Works with other database administrators who are responsible for the physical database and implementation duties.
Integrates with the Agile product managers, product owners, architects, and developers to support the architectural runway. Provides foundational capabilities that will be used to support future functionality.
Creates and maintains conceptual and logical data models.
Transitions logical data models to physical database administrators.
Creates enablers, in conjunction with architects, for the architectural runway within an agile release train.
Provides technical assistance and mentoring to staff on logical data model concepts.
Develops data architectures and database management policies and standards. Guarantees the performance integrity and quality of databases.
Monitors performance and performs database training and assists architects and application developers with train tuning efforts.
Sets and enforces database standards, tools, and processes.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
At least 6 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data.
Proven experience in building conceptual and logical data models
Extensive relational database experience
IBM DB2 database administration experience in an IBM z/OS environment
Extensive experience with data modeling tools like Power Designer and ERwin
Strong collaboration and presentation skills
Previous credit card processing experience
COBOL, with emphasis on IDMS DML navigation usage
