Premise offers a wide range of dynamic, purpose-driven career opportunities. We are currently looking for a Full Time Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Corpus Christi, TX.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Performs under the supervision of the Group Health Center Manager and under the auspices of the Medical Director. Performs the functions of a LPN/LVN following state regulations. This role requires increased autonomy, defines leadership role for clinical staff, and increases daily responsibilities / site management while collaborating with medical providers and Group Health Center Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assesses and evaluates nursing care provided by clinical staff; (were policies/processes followed, documentation completeness, areas of risk, etc.) identifies areas for improvement, problem solves and communicates issues with the Group Health Center Manager.

  • Knowledgeable of rules, regulations, Premise Health policies and procedures and ability to communicate effectively to team members as necessary.

  • Participate in conferences and meetings as necessary. Participates in pertinent in-service education planned by organization to improve job performance and other meetings as designated by the Group Health Center Manager.

  • Creates orientation packet and clinical training checklists for new employees and any identified re-training needs from Premise Central; then devotes time working with the individual to orient, retrain, coach, correct or educate employees. Reinforces clear performance expectations as per the Group Health Center Manager or Medical Director within Premise Health policies and procedures and actions specific to the site.

  • Plays a role in creating and meeting operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and client-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements and implementing corrective actions for team or process in collaboration with the Group Health Center Manager.

  • Assists with maintaining or writing site specific policies and procedures with collaboration of GHCM and medical providers, to ensure team members have current data and direction to act on.

  • Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting Premise Health philosophies and standards of care and making or recommending adjustments.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by ensuring clinical staff are following cleaning procedures, completing applicable quality controls, and updating SDS and equipment manuals.

  • Provides one-on-one education or corrective performance counseling with clinical staff under the direction of the GHCM.

  • Serve as a EMR site super-user to troubleshoot staff data entry issues and improve workflows as site and clinical staff grow in depth of knowledge of electronic data entry and tracking.

  • Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Maintains clinic supplies inventory by studying usage; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; collaborating with GHCM on approving requisitions and cost allocations.

  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among team members by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating and leading in team problem-solving methods. Demonstrates leadership by diffusing team gossip and/or comments/actions that are detrimental to a positive work environment.

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of National League for Nursing accredited program, Associate's degree (A.S.) and/or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

  • Licensed with the state services will be provided as a Practical Nurse

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience as an LPN in a primary/ambulatory care, occupational health, or emergency department setting.
  • 1-year previous leadership / supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge about workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.

  • Strong computer skills required (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing, etc.)

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Record systems required.

  • Knowledge of Premise Health medical procedures and health practice.

  • Ability to emulate leadership for team members via sound nursing practice and education.x

  • Able to comprehend oral and written directions, from RN GHCM and Medical Director.

  • Understands requirement of collaborating all nursing care decisions, changes, or directives with RN GHCM and/or Medical Director.
