This Senior Level Propulsion Engineer position will join the Propulsion team for work on advanced propulsion technology and integration. The successful candidate will have experience in multidisciplinary analysis and optimization, flight vehicle system performance, computational fluid dynamics, and air-breathing propulsion concepts and systems. This position also requires experience creating and validating new concepts, and novel design and analysis processes.
Shapes strategy and policy at an organizational level on all aspects of propulsion system, auxiliary power system and fuel system design, integration, testing and certification.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Leads multidisciplinary, multi-program or multi-system integration efforts to support propulsion design definition certification and validation.
Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.
Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies.
Provides consultation across the business unit with regard to propulsion integration.
Identifies the need for new tools and processes.
Works under consultative direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
More than 5 years of aerospace industry experience within Propulsion Systems
More than 3 years of engineering leadership experience
More than 1 year of experience with hypersonic systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with the following:
Hypersonic or supersonic airframe-propulsion integration including design and engineering analysis
Turbine, ramjet, and scramjet engine cycles and cycle analysis
High-speed inlet design and analysis, including combined-cycle inlets
High-speed nozzle design and analysis including combined-cycle nozzles
Computational fluid dynamics applied to propulsion integration
Experience with turbine engine component design
Experience developing and presenting presentations to executive leadership
Experience with new business acquisition (to include leading customer-focused new business development and strategic investment initiatives)
Typical Education / Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
