Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) has a new opening for an Autonomous Systems Integration (ASI) Specialist, who will provide subject matter expertise on the safe and secure integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the National Airspace (NAS).
Applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead autonomous systems integration activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex autonomous system of systems and system solutions
Providing subject matter expertise in the technical and regulatory issues on the airspace integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the NAS
Developing and implementing research strategy for unmanned and autonomous systems, including external outreach, industry engagement and partnerships
Leading analyses for affordability, safety, regulatory, certification, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
Leading others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Supporting and contributing to overall enterprise strategy to advance air mobility leadership agenda.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience with highly autonomous unmanned systems integration and 10+ years of experience in the aviation domain
Experience working directly with the FAA
Experience engaging and interacting with senior government executives and with executive leaders in industry and academic communities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in leading FAA UAS Aviation Rule-making Committee (ARC) activities
Experience in leading the Limited Deployment Cooperative Airspace Project (LD-CAP) to enable the safe Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operation.
Typical Education / Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 20 or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with 15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
