The goal of this recruitment is to fill this position at an Operations and Policy Analyst 4 level. However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for an Operations and Policy Analyst 3 ($6,257 - $9,226) to apply, as we may consider underfilling the position until the selected candidate meets the minimum qualifications for an Operations and Policy Analyst 4. Underfill training will not exceed three years.

What You Will be Doing:

As a Senior Legislative Advisor, you will work in conjunction with the Director's Office, across the Agency to manage the internal and external legislative strategy for the Agency at the state and Federal levels and to provide leadership and direction to staff. The Senior Legislative Advisor develops and implements the Agency's strategic legislative plans; builds and fosters collaborative working relationships with community partners, the Governor's office, and legislators; convenes Agency policy advisors, leaders, experts and balances specific program agendas with Agency strategy. This position will also serve as the primary liaison to the Oregon Federal Delegation.

The Senior Legislative Advisors report to the Deputy Director and will work with executive team members as well as senior agency program analysts and senior operations and policy analysts.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Operations and Policy Analyst 4:

  • A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work; OR
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

Operations and Policy Analyst 3 (Underfill Option):

  • A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work; OR
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
