As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining training solutions that meet the learning requirements of a specific business or audience. This role plays a lead on significant projects, analyzes employee training needs and develops the appropriate learning intervention while measuring and assessing results of learning initiatives and implement enhancements as needed. In this role, you will consult with subject matter experts and create content to be implemented through various mediums and delivery vehicles, including mobile devices. This role will require you to have a strong business knowledge of the financial services industry and demonstrate and integrate this knowledge in all work product. This role will support content build for our Group Insurance, Individual Life Insurance and Retirement Strategies businesses.

The current employee work arrangement for this position may be Hybrid or Fully Virtual. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office. There may also be the need for occasional travel for regional or national events, conferences or other business meetings

What you can expect:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Engage and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders, executive level leaders, Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs), and control functions such as MRU, Investment Management, Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Tax

Conduct needs analysis; identifying the knowledge, skills, and abilities gaps of a targeted audience as well as the population characteristics to determine a best course of address

Plan and manage instructional design projects and supporting structure with pre-work, class activities (live or virtual), presentations, practice problems, role plays, case studies, and post-implementation activities

Develop new or modify existing instructional curriculums and materials

Manage MRU submissions as required, including submitting new materials, working with MRU to assure all submissions meet Compliance requirements for content and disclosure, extending existing materials, and expiring materials as required

Conduct Train-the-Trainer and Dry Runs as needed to prepare Delivery Team and gain adjustments from key stakeholders and subject matter experts

Deliver and/or facilitate programs across Sales & Distribution, GI Claims and GI Operations, for new and existing staff as needed, ensuring that content in training programs meets business needs of the organization

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

  • FINRA SIE, Series 6 and 26 required or must be obtained within 180 days of hire

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to execute clear, consistent, and applicable learning experiences aligned to organizational goals

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, et al)

  • Expert level command of common authoring tools, course development methodologies, video, audio, and eLearning development (or the ability to rapidly learn)

  • Demonstrated flare and keen eye for design and use of graphic elements to create engaging training products

  • Deep working knowledge of adult learning theory and teaching techniques including a familiarity with a wide array of training concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to influence along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers to deliver business results

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/cases simultaneously and juggle multiple (and potentially conflicting) priorities

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • 5 to 7+ years of Financial Services experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on content development within the financial services industry

  • Prior Sales Training experience

  • Experience with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $107,200.00 to $159,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
