Introduction to the job

As a 'Senior Learning Specialist (2)' you are responsible for the analysis, design & development, and execution & evaluation of assigned training courses or curricula. You do so by applying your experience and expertise of established best known methods such as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) as well project management concepts such as IPECC (Initiate, Plan, Execute, Control, Close).

You work in close co-operation with other members of the Wilton Factory Training department, as well as, Workforce Development Leaders, Subject Matter Experts from various departments throughout the Wilton Factory and/or other factories throughout the ASML global network, (global) project teams and change managers, as applicable.

Role and responsibilities

You will be actively involved in the two principal elements of the training program and/or training product life-cycle:

  • Training Development

  • Perform detailed Learning Needs Analysis

  • Design and develop learning solutions for traditional as well as distance learning, synchronous as well as asynchronous training, and pertaining to, both, theoretical as well as practical training

  • Develop learning materials as well as assessment tools

  • Focus will be on the development of new content as well as refinement of existing content

  • ensuring all learning objectives as well as all relevant aspects related to knowledge, skills, and abilities, are addressed and can be evaluated/assessed as part of the training deliverables as applicable.

  • Training Delivery

  • Deliver/facilitate traditional (e.g.: classroom) as well as remote learning (e.g.: technology enabled synchronous distance learning) training events

  • Project Management

  • You apply relevant project management methodologies. You are able to plan and act within a triple constraint (Scope, Schedule, and Budget).

  • Other

  • In your capacity as Subject Matter Expert of your assigned role you provide coaching and or mentoring to others.

  • Supporting the training team in other tasks (e.g.: process development, etc.) or functions (e.g.: program lead, scheduling, etc.) as applicable.

Education and experience

Education

  • Master's degree in applicable field (e.g.: Adult Education, Instructional Design, etc.) or equivalent education/training with a minimum of 5 years experience in or closely related to role as described in 'Job Description' section

or

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field (e.g.: Adult Education, Instructional Design, etc.) or equivalent education/training with minimum of 8 years experience in or closely related to role as described in 'Job Description' section

Experience

  • Minimum qualifications - the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including:

  • Minimum of 5 of years of relevant experience as described in "Job Mission" and/or "Job Description" (see above)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g.: Articulate Suite, Camtasia, Captivate, or iSpring)

  • Proficiency with visual design, video/audio technology and editing

  • Strong familiarity with Learning Management Systems

  • Experience working with an adult audience / training attendees

  • Excellent English communication skills - both written and oral.

  • Experience designing in and using presentation software (e.g. MS PowerPoint, Prezi, Powtoon, etc.)

  • Experience using project management software applications (e.g.: MS Project, Jira, etc.)

  • Desirable qualifications - the candidate should possess all or some of the qualifications listed below:

  • Experience of supporting training in a technical, manufacturing, or equivalent engineering environment strongly preferred

  • This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).

Role within Office

Essential Job Functions

The essential job functions for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in a fast-paced office environment, including working in a standing or seated position for long periods sometimes exceeding 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

  • Commute to ASML's facility and report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis.

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, computer keyboarding (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), filing, calculating, and use of telephone or other handheld electronic devices, continuously sometimes exceeding 8 hours per day, five days per week.

  • Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs - specify percentage of travel.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Perform other functions that may be assigned.

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves. Working under ISO 9000/14000 standards.

  • The environment in the cleanroom is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.

  • Working around lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.

  • The employee is occasionally required to move around the campus.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
